We arrived about 10.30am and were advised there would be a 15-20 minute wait. The staff were attentive and genuinely pleasant considering their age, not meaning to sound patronising there, but they were professional to a standard beyond there years. The breakfast was hot, tasty and cooked to a high standard.Really enjoyed our time in this venue and would highly recommend it.

I am reluctant to be critical when I review places and the Lamb has some good points. It is clean and warm and quite pleasant to sit in. However the pint of IPA I had was rather short measure, and when I asked for it to be topped up, the barmaid seemed surprised, but did make an attempt. However, even when it was supposedly topped up it was still so short that I took a picture of it so that I could prove my eyes were not deceiving me.We ordered food and my medium rare steak was barely exhibiting any pink while my wife's fish was 'good in parts'. The classic British reserve overcame my impulse to return it to the bar, however we did mention it when the waitress came round to check. To be fair she did offer to return the food to the kitchen, but having half eaten it and complained about the beer, we did not bother. It is hard to blame the staff too much as they all looked young and fairly inexperienced, and possibly undertrained. However the place seemed in need of an experienced manager overseeing the bar and food and insisting on high standards. It is far from the worst place I have been in, but I would say 'requires improvement'Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that on this occasion we did not meet with your expectations. Your observations have been passed onto the relevant heads of department.

Come and enjoy fine food, wine or traditional beers all in a setting that is truly delightful. Nestled halfway between Cambridge & Ely, just off the A10, this Riverside Restaurant & Bar is the only place to dine. The Restaurant and Bar is located next to t
I was struggling to find somewhere suitable for a Monday lunch, as a lot of places are closed for food on Mondays. The Lazy Otter was perfect and we had a lovely family lunch. It was nice and quiet, great garden with a childrenâs playground. The view of the marina and the fens is definitely an added bonus.Menu was very good and reasonably priced. They did have quite a lot not available - but then it was a Monday, after an extremely busy weekend. So completely understandable.Service, very friendly, couldnât fault.Food, great home cooked solid pub food. My daughter loved the macaroni cheese, and polished off every morsel. Deserts lovely, very generous portions. Will definitely be back. Great value for money, and the children ate everything!Thank you for your great review. Hope to see you soon. From the Lazy otter team

Have been here several times now. The food has always been excellent, well presented and friendly helpful staff. Will keep coming back when in the area. There is some parking in the grounds but there is a car park right next door. About 15-20 minutes from town centre too so easy to walk to if in the town. Highly recommendedHello, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, We are glad to hear you really enjoyed your time with us. We will look forward to seeing you when you are back in the area. I will pass all your lovely comments to my team. Kind Regards, Nicolle Assitant Manager

Fabulous location on the river. Not visited for nine years and was sincerely hoping to rekindle some old memories. I always intended to have a Sunday Roast, but as previous reviews have reported, the menu is extremely limited. Whilst I appreciate the restaurant was busy (and noisy) the service was incredibly slow and not attentive. It took twenty minutes before the drinks order was taken (nearly left). I opted for the honey glazed gammon which was superb, but the vegetables were simply terrible. If that is the norm, then some serious staff training or supervision is required in the kitchen. Unfortunately, there were no staff to even contemplate requesting some correctly cooked veg. My partner had a very average chicken pie which was so lacking in sauce. Not good enough for the price. Location is their saving grace. These guys really need to up their game, both in the kitchen and the service in my opinion. May give you a try in another nine years.

3At3 is a Real Ale & Craft Beer Café and bottle shop offering Micro Brewery Draught Craft Beer from our 4 degree cold store, bottled and canned Craft Beers from the cold shelf, many bottle conditioned Real Ales from our Beer Library, Ciders and Wines pair
Very interesting place. A cafe and pub and good range of bottled beer. Not easy to find. Need to go down passageway near Johnsonâs cleaners on forehill . Really enjoyable outside terrace. 8 or about tables inside. Choice of 4 beers on the tap. Good quality but certainly at âcraft pricesâ!Hi Ian, glad you enjoyed 3At3 and many thanks for the review. Just to clarify we have 6 draft craft taps and you probably caught us on our Thursday change over day when we obviously also clean our tap lines as we always do between beer changes. This would explain why we only had 4 draft taps in operation. With regards to the prices, all of our draft beers are predominantly from small micro breweries sometimes 1 or 2 man operations with all the costs that that entails to produce great UK craft beer. We hope to see you back soon.

We visited the Anchor 3 years ago when visiting family in Ely, we enjoyed it so much that we made a beeline for it on this visit to Ely. We were not disappointed. We all had the fish and chips which was excellent. The service was excellent and prices reasonable. Would recommend this restaurant, and can't wait for our next visit. Many thanks for your review, it was a pleasure having you here and we look forward to welcoming you back, maybe try our curry night or silly steak night on a Tuesday. The Little Downham Anchor Team

With fresh, local produce at the heart of The Royal Standard ethos, menus are constantly subject to change, with an emphasis on high-quality seafood and steak. New owners Jeanene, Mike and Maciej are in the process of converting the Royal Standard into a
Been to the Royal Standard twice on business recently. You really wouldnât expect the rooms to look so great when you arrive but I enjoyed staging here. The team in the restaurant were lovely. The young lady who served my dinner was lovely as was the young guy who served breakfast. I did arrive to eat at 7am as per the guest information but I had to go back to my room to wait. Itâs not an issue if youâre on a break but I need to be in work on time. Room 3 (black room from photos) had a much comfier bed than 4. Nice that room four had a separate area to watch tv. There was an iron, kettle, nice bottled water. The hotel has lovely decor, the designer has a great eye when putting the furniture, mirrors and beds together. I struggled with dinner menu but thatâs a personal choice. It can be a bit noisy when the pub is closing but there is nothing you can do. Overall a really good little hotel and I will be back when I am next in Ely.

We visited this pub just for a couple of drinks on our way home from the theatre. There was a good selection of 'craft' ales, although we drink lager. The service at the bar was good, the bar staff were very pleasant.

Arrived admittedly at about 9pm for a drink. Would have been happy to have been told 'sorry, it's a little late', but got a surly 'you can have a quick one'. Never felt so unwelcome. Left.
