A group of us called in after a cliff walk. We were efficiently served from the extensive menu, the food arrived promptly. The interior is unusual and interesting and the restaurant sits between the harbour and sea front. An enjoyable lunch.

The Kitchen is at the heart of the White Cliffs Bunkhouse, it's the sort of place that's worth a detour if passing through Dover. The place attracts locals who often drop in for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner with friends in the often buzzing and lively a
On Saturday we visited this restaurant for the first time, and we were not disappointed. We chose a variety of dishes including sea bass, crab and chicken. All were delicious and each presented nicely. We followed these up with pavlova and lemon posset. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening and will visit again.

We visited The Coastguard on a rainy chilly evening in October. The location of the place is just great, right on the beach. We even enjoyed the windy road down - my fellow travelers wondered how on earth I found this place! The food was excellent, the staff very welcoming, friendly, helpful. The only downside to our visit was that the pub was not very warm. They must have had the heating turned off. It would have been a lot cosier if the temperature was a little higher.Thank you for your review. Sorry that the pub was a bit cold. We are just at that time of year between having the heating on and off - also soon we will have our roaring central fire going! Hope to see you again.

Due a change in ownership the Kitchen will be closing from this Saturday 26th September until the new owners take over with a view to relaunching the menu on the 26th October. Friendly Pub and Restaurant welcoming all. With excellent value and great tasti
We found the place because it's on the way to Dover. We wanted to eat, especially since we'd read on Tripadvisor the food was good. Nobody said anything of the restaurant only serving food on certain days. Not during the week. That said, the Hobgoblin was excellent, and the owner was ever so helpful and kind.

We stayed in the Premier Inn next door. Booked a table and was told only 8pm left. Went across at 8 and was seated upstairs in an area with plenty of space. We were left and eventually had to call the waitress to take our order. She took our order and we again waited a significant amount of time until we had to chase our food. We ordered the lamb and feta burger and the sweet potato and feta cheese dish. The burger was fine but the sweet potato dish was tasteless. All in all a poor experience. The seating area was also cold. Would not recommend this at all.Dear dreamfields11 we are very sorry we had limited times available for tables we do get very busy over weekends and half term periods, and for your convenience we do offer a online booking service to reserve tables in advance. We are extremely sorry our service was not up to our usual standards and that you had to wait for your order to be taken, we do try to make every guest visit special and serve everyone as quickly as possible to the best standard. We appreciate your feedback on the food items and will pass this on to the chefs to make sure the quality is the best we can possibly deliver. We hope you visit us again soon and we can offer a positive memorable experience - Kind Wishes - Team Plough

We choose this restaurant because was late and the one we wanted to go was not serving meals that evening. The restaurant is simple but nice and warm but the meal was wonderful. I took a surf and turf and the meat was tender like butter. My wife and daughter took the fish and chips, crispy and light. My boy took an hamburger also very tasty and juicy. Apple pies with custard really good as well. We also discovered that on the bottom of the restaurant (where the toilets are located) there is a canteen with live music. We were tired but next time we'll definitely end the evening down there.

We are a country pub with a large beer garden. We serve food all day until 9.00pm.
Visited with family on a Saturday night. We all had a meal which everybody thought was very nice and reasonably priced. I had the homemade pie and mash which was lovely. The young man that served our table was very polite and friendly. Dog friendly too which is great. Would definitely return next time Iâm in the area.
