All things are subjective, but if you like your veg over-cooked and soggy then this is the place for you. Lots of meat, (beef topside, turkey breast and gammon) and good red cabbage. Flavour was ok and it was inexpensive. Perfectly satisfactory for a quick Sunday lunch without spending a fortune.

Long wait at bar with no apology for the long delay. Basic serve with drinks. Restaurant tables not cleared promptly so we sat with loads of plates, glasses etc used by other people. Dirty sugar bowl with stained sugar cubes. £22.50 for two rolls and coleslaw but NO cutlery etc. Complained to GM and was treated with rudeness. About visiting the place for 40 years my wife and I will not be going again! Don't bother until the female General Manager learns to do her job properly!!!

Great family pub that shows all Sky Sports and BT Sports, free hire function room! Large Beer Garden and a delicious Sunday carvery 12 noon till 4.30 pm or bring your own plates and have a takeaway instead !
The standard of carvery food here is second to none and I would definitely recommend it for the food. However, we didn't feel we had a particulalry warm welcome. It wasn't an unfriendly place, but it wasn't particularly friendly either...we felt it was rather 'clicky', which is a shame as we only live round the corner, so it's probably the nearest pub to us.But never mind...there are plenty of other pubs in the area that we can go to instead.

We went here for lunch following a 5 mile walk along the cliffs. There was limited seating available as the pub is clearly very popular, but the boss sorted us out pretty quickly and we had a few drinks before our basket lunches. The food was excellent for bar-snack fare and we plan to go back to try the full menu. The staff were attentive and pleasant too, with the female staff bringing our dog a few biscuits and then keeping him occupied while we settled into eating our lunch. The Real Aled was also excellent, which is a sure sign that care is being taken.

This is a fascinating little bar spread across several different rooms off a central outdoor corridor.Fantastically friendly service and a good range of drinks on tap, including some good ales and ciders. We found ourself in the front room which is really cosy with a fire burning. Worked out perfectly with the kids as we werenât disturbing other patrons and were well away from the bar. Doesnât have the waterfront location of some of the other pubs, but makes up for this with friendly service and very comfortable atmosphere.Strongly recommend.

The Old Market House is a contemporary restaurant in Brixham, Devon, a picturesque seaside fishing port. Our building is listed, and years ago played host to ship builders, an indoor fish market and a tourist information centre, amongst other trades. Now
A member of our family has special needs and does not like crowds. The manager Samantha allowed us to use the upstairs before it was actually opened which made such a difference. She was very understanding and went out of her way to make us all have an enjoyable evening. Would recommend the fish bites, very fresh tasting with ultra light batter. Not oily at all.

Called in here for a quick drink, and considering it wasnt a place we had visited before, we were amazed how good this place actually is. Credit to the 2 who run the place, a very nice and chatty couple, could speak to them both for ages. Lots of time and quality spent towards the customers. The pub has been transformed into a real comforting place of quality. The Decor was of high class, including the excellent wallpaper that stood out a mile!Lots of ales and food on the menu to choose from and such a shame we had to cancel our booking late on Friday for an emergency. We were looking forward to the night ahead. A band and food on offer. But We will definatley return asap. Thanks to both of you, we never got your names but will love to meet up again. All the very best of luck over the winter and Spring months. Hi there,Thank you for such lovely comments. .....with the exception of the young waiter. We were very impressed with this place previously but no more. Having booked well in advance the wait to be served was unacceptable. When we were finally asked for our orders, they had run out of what we wanted. The poor young waiter was doing his best to serve everyone and deal with complaints single handed and at no point did any of the staff from downstairs come to his assistance ( including the owner). This young man was really impressive as he never showed any frustration or anger but stayed customer focussed and polite. The food was mediocre and we won't be visiting again.

Me and my family came here for the pie night last Thursday. We preordered our pies from the fantastic range beforehand and had great communication with the people there. Got a great deal with the pint and a pie which was absolute perfection, had the chicken, gammon and leek. Will definitely return here on every holiday now on. Fantastic chefs, barmen and waiter. Thank you so much. Thanks so much for your review. So happy that you enjoyed our Pies and we look forwards to seeing you again. Regards Lynn
