I've visited the Clog and Billycock quite a few times over the poor excuse for a summer we have had.Always had a good meal here or just a pleasant few drinks. But over the summer I have looked wistfully at the fireplaces and thought I know the calendar says August but the weather doesn't.So it was nice to pop in last week and see the fires lit with the welcome only a real fire can give.I was dining with a couple of friends and we ordered across the menu. The hot pot was the clear winner.Though I was also impressed with the generosity of the cheese board. Local Lancashire fair of course. What makes the Clog and Billycock a firm favourite, is you know you are going to get a good meal, great service and a wonderful welcome. Whatever the weather.

Welcome to the Duckworth Hall Inn. A traditional pub in the Lancashire countryside, serving home cooked food in a relaxed atmosphere.
On Sunday I just fancied a home made Sunday lunch without all the washing up that comes with it and my partner suggested eating here.We hadnât booked but the staff were more than accommodating at finding a table to fit us in.I ordered the beef Sunday lunch and asked if they could swap the new potatoes for mash and I must say I was not disappointed. The beef was beautifully cooked and the accompaniments were lovely, with a huge yorkshire pudding on top. For £9.95 absolute bargain, lovely home cooked food without any washing up!I would definitely recommend eating here â¤ï¸

Situated in the picturesque Ribble Valley, Lancashire, the Millstone is an award-winning restaurant and bar. A menu inspired by the local produce around the inn. The restaurant has a AA Rosette.
My family and I stayed the night at The Millstone. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. We had an excellent dinner the night before in a separate adjoining dining room. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, which is good as many had come a very long way. I would definitely stay here again if I was in the area.

We were staying close by on holiday and went for dinner. The pub looks fairly recently refurbished in a contemporary, comfortable style with tasteful and relaxing colours. Staff were welcoming.Food was excellent - an interesting menu. We only had main courses but they were great - a rich cheese and onion pie - seemed home made and the flat iron steak was very tender and succulent with hot crisp fries. The accompaniments were fresh and tasty.Good value - would highly recommend.
