Ben took his old mum and dad out for a curry.Chose this restaurant from a previous recommendation.Great interior, excellent menu with many choices including vegetarian.A very nice meal which we all enjoyed. Samosas where very good, almost better than Bobbies in Leicester, and thatâs good.Lamb good, aubergine also and Benâs madras sambar.Definitely go again or get a takeaway.Very friendly and helpful staff.

Upon a recommendation we tried to book on a busy Saturday night before heading to Lucky 7. Despite being told on the phone that they were fully booked we took a chance at around 7pm to pop in and ask if they could fit us in. To our delight they "found" a table for two. Excellent food, ambiance and lovely team. A BYO so cheap meal out to boot.

We are not just an ordinary Nepalese or Indian restaurant. Founded in 2004 as a take-away in Market Street, Torquay, we were the very first Nepalese Cuisine Speacialist in the whole of Torbay or Devon. We have grown from a single small takeaway to a big l
Hidden gem tucked away on a side street with an unusual view. Bhajis are delicious and the accompanying yellow sauce is fresh and light and addictive. Curries are packed full of flavour and I highly recommend the goat. Service efficient. No.1 restaurant in Paignton for me.Thank you LokiLaaLaa for the review. Glad you enjoyed the goat meat which is one of our speciality curry here and we do get lots of compliments for our bhajis as well. I will pass this review to all our staff as well and hope to see you soon in near future.

The Local Thai Restaurant in Paignton is open daily and serves authentic Thai cuisine prepared by an experienced Thai chefs, who trained in Thailand. We serve lunch and evening meals seven days a week, and being situated near the Vue cinema complex, The S
Visited this Thai restaurant for dinner before theatre. Had checked all reviews for the handful of Thai restaurants in Paignton and chose this one based on the many good reviews. We were extremely impressed. It certainly equalled the best Thai meals we've had anywhere in the UK. Very happy and will be back.

First night in Torquay for family holiday, decided on Thai takeout, did a quick search and came across this little gem, maybe seats 12, open plan kitchen, friendly staff and food to die for. If your in the area and fancy a Thai do not pass this place up!

We are very proud to offer top quality food, efficient service, a friendly atmosphere and a warm welcome to our customers. Our chef is highly experienced which enables him to serve the high quality Nepalese food that our customers deserve.
My friend wanted to try Nepalese food so we went to the Nepalese Gurkha. We went on a Sunday night. The staff were really friendly. We ordered popadoms which were good. I ordered the Himalaya combination which was really tasty. The naan bread was good. The portions are big so we took some food home. Will be going back. Great family restaurant.

We ordered a lamb dish calling itself Nepalese lamb to try this place, having had a poor experience here previously a few years ago. The chucks of lamb were like rubber and the onions and red/green pepper were very coarsely diced and half cooked at best, there was even part of the core of one of the peppers in the curry. This was one of the more expensive curries on the menu at £10 and I can say that there was nothing enjoyable or authentic Nepalese about it. Confirmed this to be a dodgy Indian restaurant that doesn't even try to produce decent food.

We went here on a Sunday evening, after initially going into the Thai restaurant just down the road. Where we we shown upstairs to a cold room which had as much atmosphere as a morgue..... after sitting there for 10 minutes, or thereabouts. I said, right thatâs it we are going, the staff didnât seem bothered, so I suppose customers must be a nuisance to them.We went up the road, to be greeted by a friendly waiter, Josh, he was very helpful, so was the other guy, but I didnât get his name.We had an excellent meal and a reasonably priced bottle of wine, in a warm room, and were made to feel welcome. Will be back...The lamb special dish was very very good.

We were lucky to get a table as there were only two tables available on the Sunday evening that we visited. The staff were welcoming and very attentive, despite being rushed off their feet with takeaway orders. We ordered prawn crackers, breaded king prawns, crispy chilli beef, chicken fried rice, stir fried broccoli and noodles with bean sprouts. It was all amazing, freshly cooked, not greasy, very tasty and our plates were scraped. We were looking forward to a Chinese meal after a busy day of sightseeing and my husband, son and I were not disappointed.

Weâve visited a few times over the past couple of months. We tried the pizza night first and then the Japanese. Both excellent. Pizza was light, crispy and toppings were excellent quality. The Japanese food was fantastic and for a small canteen in Devon, itâs probably as authentic as youâll get for a few miles around. Really light dishes with a focus on simple, strong flavours. The mochi was lovely. Itâs a small and intimate space which if you arrive at the wrong time, it can mean losing out to a table. Certainly worth it though.
