I visited the restaurant again, for the 3rd time in the last few months. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated. The staff are so lovely and friendly, all of them smiling and very helpful. Each meal has been gorgeous, the waiter has made recommendations for me and I can honestly say the food has been perfect. I can not wait to return.

Was staying in Sheffield for the weekend and the bar man in the hotel we were staying in recommended this restaurant and was very pleased he did. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was excellent and the chicken in our meal was really tender, all freshly cooked and served piping hot. Will definitely be returning when next in Sheffield.

Came here as a couple for a quiet Thursday evening. Had a really good starter of the crispy battered seafood to share and a Duck stir fry and Prawn Thai curry for mains. The wine was very good and reasonable value, although they didn't have the bottle we'd requested and would have been good to know that in advance of ordering. The food was excellent and really very well flavoured. We had a great meal and very enjoyable evening, would very much recommend the restaurant.

Family run restaurant opened in 2011 but serving Sheffield since 1988! Situated on a busy a road on the outskirts of the city 10 minutes drive by car from the city centre or a tram stops just a little further from our door step!
Me and my friend went to cutlers spice tonight and it was a complete let down we waited nearly an hour for food when the restaurant was not even busy and even the quality of the food was horrific, one of the waiter actually seemed disinterested when taking our orders and was rushing us think we are going to stick to virajj on woodseats who are far more superior to this diveI will recommend Viraaj Sufi is a good friend of mine how ever! Can I also recommend ashoka on ecclesall road hes a good friend of mine too will look after you better then me thank you for taking your time to Wright this review I can only apologise for the bad experience youâve had at my restaurant!

When thinking of somewhere to go for a special meal Maveli is always one of the options. This visit didn't disappoint. We started with some popadom's while we made our choices from the menu and decided to try some different dishes. for starters we had sundal and andhra chilli prawn which we shared. although we enjoyed both dishes very much they didn't particularly go together. The owner told us that the sundal was a beach snack often made with mango instead of coconut, that we would really like to try! For Main course we had Kozhi Mappas which was excellent, Thoothukudi Kanavai Masala which was disappointing at the squid was a bit chewy, Erissery which was an excellent vegetable dish, Sambar Saadam which was a disappointing rice dish and quite wet so not good for absorbing sauces. The breads appam and Parotta were wonderful and went very well with the dishes. Service was good and very friendly and the chat about the food was very much appreciated. One slight negative was the wine which was disappointing and I would suggest that they might revise their wine list. Overall I would recommend this restaurant very highly and I look forward to returning soon

We had a really fabulous meals here after calling in unexpectedly on the last Saturday in September. It was really quite full, but early so we did get a table. Iâd recommend booking to be sure however. The food was excellent, very flavourful and just the right amount of heat and spice. The indicate how spiced a meal is according to the number of âchilliesâ shown. I had a fish dish (canât recall the name) and was very impressed that the delicate flavour of the fish came through the flavourful curry sauce! They a several fish option (which I think Iâd great!) and Iâm going to try them all. My Donât have a starter as the portions are quite large. M

EDIT: 18/10/19 Well, not been here for a while (at least 18 month) I went along with a friend and had been raving all day about the Thali dishes and how nice they were. Well, I was totally underwhelmed on my visit. Gone is the BYO, gone are the Thali dishes and gone is the fantastic Carrot pudding. It is now just another mediocre curry house that just seems to do what all the other generic curry houses are doing. I had a VERY bog standard curry, adding insult to injury, the Bhaji was, even though looking very presentable, tasted as though it had been cooked in oil that was well past it's change date which made the Bhaji taste quite greasy. This is now at the very bottom of my 'to re-visit' list and I would not recommend this place to anyone seeking a decent curry experience. 6/10 - what the hell happend, you have just become 'another' curry house, when you had something so special. Come back Sharrow Urban Choola, I miss you.Previous review: My absolute favorite Indian restaurant in Sheffield. Not your ordinary curry house, but authentic Indian Street food served with a smile. BYO is always a bonus. Just make sure you book for a weekend and try the Thali.Dear Andy I can understand that change does not go well with everyone, but to be fair we have tried to advertise extensively about all the changes for some time now and if you would have checked the website or our Facebook page before planning your visit you would have realised that we are no longer a BYOB thali cafe, rather an authentic Indian restaurant. I can say it with certainty that we do stand out because of the quality of food and service we provide. which should be clear from all the positive reviews we have been getting recently. So thank you for your feedback but we will stick to what we are doing.

Went here for my son's graduation and it was absolutely wonderful. Our host could not have been more helpful and patient with all our eating allergies and questions. The food was amazing, one of the nicest restaurants I have been to in a very long time and so disappointed that they don't have something like this in London. The sushi was delicious and the portions for all the different foods and meals we tried were really good. The cold plum wine is also excellent. Will definitely go back there every time I come to Sheffield, if you like this type of food you will not find anywhere better.Dear Elaine,Thank you for leaving our little restaurant this review. We are all so pleased that your family enjoyed the experience on this momentous occasion in your sonâs life! Another huge congratulations to him again! Your comments on the food and service have been enthusiastically received by our staff. We certainly hope to see you all again should you find yourself in the steel city again.Kind regards The Koko Team
