Booked last minute for a Saturday night. We thought it would be very busy but to our surprise was fairly quiet. The food is exceptional and will definitely visit again. I did not give 5 stars as the restaurant was so cold to sit in. We did ask the waiter if the heating was on, the waiter said it was and we actually said again before we left. We will be back and will wear something warmer the next time!

The Viceroy is a multi-award winning restaurant which was est.1991.Here at The Viceroy you can expect some of the finest Bangladeshi cuisine prepared by world class chefs and served by top class waiters in a family friendly atmosphere.
The food here is ok but the service isnât. We ordered starters and after a while 2 came but mine only came after a reminder to server and when other two had finished. The mains came after quite a wait - two fags later- and again not correct. Overall food was ok - not outstanding - and service mediocre. Was expecting more. Used to go to old restaurant and whilst new one is nice surroundings they do need to up their service fir the price.

My friends and I visited on Saturday 5 October, there were six in our party. We had starters then mains. All starters were delicious; ranging from buttered prawns, satay chicken, dumplings, jalapeño ribs etc. The only thing I will say, is my ribs were just luke warm, with one being quite cold. So that was the only disappointing item with the meal.We got jungle curry, red Thai curry and other food (I canât remember the name of the dishes). We got a selection of rice, noodles and breads. All absolutely amazing! We will be back.

Authentic Indian cuisine in a cosy atmosphere. We also cater for vegetarian and vegan guests. Fully licensed with a neat collection of spirits, lager, wine and non alcoholic beverages.
We had an absolutely delicious meal here but the thing that made it even better was the feeling of friendliness and welcome we got from the owners and their family and staff. Thank you so much. Highly recommend for the delicious food and the atmosphere. Fabulous!

A unique eatery providing authentic cuisine from Indian sub continent and beyond.A wonderful cocktail bar to entertain friend sand family.
- I was really impressed with this restaurant. - It was exceptionally clean, and the food is very good. I ordered the North Indian chicken and the person I was with had a Vegetable Masala. -The staff were incredibly polite and prompt and it is certainly a very well run establishment. - It is also a noticeably big venue, the floorspace of the restaurant could probably accommodate an Olympic swimming pool, so it would be an exceptionally good choice for functions or other larger events and group bookings.-I wish you all well in the future. Take care, Alex.

Local family owned Bangladeshi restaurant providing authentic food in a contemporary atmosphere since 2001.
I have been eating Indian food since the early 70s have been to India many times, now that's out the way can I just say that the food here has to be some of the best food i/we have ever tasted from anywhere. As stated in previous reviews the gentleman who owns this resturant will sit down and explain everything, even though I ' think ' I know the Indian menu by now, I have never tried Llama or Camel or Bison or Kangeroo etc etc. I choose a Chicken Harri, it is my fav meal in Goa but I have never ever seen it in the UK. It was perfect, we wisely never choose a starter ( Been there before ordering to much food lol ) but wat we did order really was something special believe me. We will visit Carlisle again even if it's only to go to Bari Restaurant, food here is so very tasty and cooked with passion, and the young lady waiting on is a credit to the restaurant.

We visited five years ago, and did so again recently. It is still a nice restaurant, quiet, with lovely staff, and good food. Very quick service. It would be nice if they added roti bread to the menu but otherwise nothing to complain about. It's surprising there are not more customers.
