I came to the restaurant a couple of days ago for a celebration with friends. We were welcomed at the door by staff and management and taken to our tables straight away! We ordered a pickle tray and popadoms and they were at the table straight away which was a nice touch. There was a good atmosphere in the restaurant which showed everyone was enjoying the food and company. The restaurant was immaculate and the staff looked well presented. We ordered starters and mains and they were beautiful the food came out fast and was piping hot. You could tell the food was freshly made and was the best Indian I have ever had. After eating we received a dessert menu afterwards and there was so much options. The staff at the restaurant deserve tremendous credit as well as management who came over and chatted to us about our days and how the food was. We will definitely be back. Keep up the good work Team Cardamom!Hi there Thanks for coming to try us out and so glad to know you loved the food as detailed in your review. We look forward to seeing you again soon RegardsCardamom Lounge

Went for another visit, this time with grandson Sam. Everything was excellent even though it was the hottest August day ever. We had starters of lamb seekh kebab(2of us) and mutton tikka. Main courses were chicken tikka dhansak, chicken tikka Ceylon and lamb curry. We also had rice and roti. All excellent with good service from Rebecca. Marvelous!Thank you for your review and feedback, itâs always a pleasure serving you and your beautiful wife and we had the added bonus of the lovely Sam, My goodness what a scorcher it was and we had the cricket yesterday, our local team Higham and the England at the Ashes well done to all. Glad you enjoyed your evening with us and we look forward to seeing you again soon

Visited on 9th October with a group of friends. Another amazing meal as always! None of us could fault anything! From the moment we entered we were made to feel very welcome and were looked after extremely well by the young waiter. We were asked several times if we were enjoying our meals and were spoken to and thanked personally by the manager before we left. Iâm sure I can speak for everybody when I say that we were all extremely happy with the quality of our meals and the level of service that we received. Thanks go to all the staff for a great evening!

We went as a family of six as it was my fathers 77th birthday. We all had starters which were lovely and fresh followed by a variation in meals consisting of fish, chicken and a vegetarian dish all cooked to perfection. Our son has a nut allergy of which they were absolutely on the ball with this. My one and only disappointment would be that my fathers birthday was not acknowledged during the meal perhaps a little something with a candle would have been a lovely gesture. Other than this the food, service and ambience was very good. We will return. x

Enjoyed a very good meal at this restaurant with friends. Excellent value for money, five courses for £9.95. Food was plentiful, well presented and tasty. Staff were friendly and attentive. Nice touch was complimentary Bailey's to finish off with. Would recommend.

A return visit for the good value Sunday lunch time menu. The staff were incredibly helpful and we enjoyed the food. A buffet is a great idea when you have teenage boys! I prefer a standard menu personally but there is enough choice here for a good meal.

Our first time here and we were not disappointed. We didn't even know it existed! My Fiance's son had found it online and suggested we all for a meal there. I've lived in Barnsley for over two years and my my Fiance for five and no one had told us about it. We've obviously missed out on some delicious meals out! The venue is quite quirky and is adjoined to the snooker hall which was founded by Joe Johnson (world snooker champion 1986 for those youngsters who perhaps have never heard of him) and the bistro is owned and run by his son who was really attentive and explained how everything worked and told us it was his menu. The menu is excellent and everything on it is homemade! We all wanted to try the beef wellington but unfortunately there was only two portions of this left. This didn't matter at all as I got to share my beef wellington with my fiance and I had half of his filled Yorkshire puddings! Both equally as good! Apparently the curry was delicious too. I was delighted that not everything was served with chips! They have an excellent range of gins and wines. Only slimline tonic though. Please could you get some ordinary tonic for next time we visit! The staff were really very good and friendly without being intrusive. Oh yes....we will definitely be going again soon! Loved it!
