Surprice next to the Highway
Reviewed By Bernd AThis Hotel is next to the Highway and I have chosen it because I was on the way to Switzerland and this was a affordable hotel before crossing the border. The rooms are facing away from the highway with a wonderful view and quite! Each room has a balcony and the rooms are large. There is an easy access to the 24 h restaurant from the rest area. The selection and the food in this restaurant was surprisingly good. Expect a little bit higher price, but much less than any meal in Switzerland. This Hotel is only 30 Minutes away from Schaffhausen. This is a very good alternative to the expensive hotels in Switzerland, or lake Constance. For the next trip to Schaffhausen I will definitely chose again this hotel.

Excellent Autobahn Motel
Reviewed By elber2This new motel is part of a rest stop on the A81 highway, just a few minutes North of the Swiss border. Rooms are spacious and clean with a minimalist aesthetic. They feature full width, floor to ceiling panoramic windows overlooking a small town set among the fields and foothills. Rooms and bathrooms built to an exceptionally high standard. All rooms have large balconies. Despite being adjacent to the autobahn, rooms are very quiet as they all face the opposite direction. Despite the high quality rooms, the hotel has few amenties. There is no mini bar, no coffee or tea maker, and soap and shampoo are dispensed out of large non-descript bottles glued the walls. Matresses are on the firm side, and the showers are prone to flooding the backroom. Yet these are minor details. Engener Höh is an unexpectedly good highway motel.

A perfect location for city dwellers The hotel of the Rastanlagen in the Hegau - Ost is located in Engen, on the A81 and thus between Lake Constance and the Black Forest. The Rhinefall near Schaffhausen - Europe's largest waterfall - can be reached within a 30-minute drive. At the hotel begins a fitness parcours. Your accommodation at a glance The rooms are generously furnished and equipped with noise protection windows. Thus, after a long drive you can find peace and relaxation. From the rooms I have a great view in the adjoining forest. Look forward to restful hours on a lovely terrace In the hotel restaurant you can enjoy high-quality dishes made with regional products. In fine weather you can enjoy the terrace. There are several footpaths nearby. A children's playground is waiting for the little ones.
Ok for an overnight stop
Reviewed By Sarah NWe were staying here purely because I wanted to visit the nearby old town of Engen. The hotel is best described as a Travelodge-style place. There were minimal staff working but everyone seemed to have multiple jobs and the place was actually very efficient. There was a very enthusiastic older gentleman working the reception at the time who was very welcoming and happy to give directions to Engen (note: if you do walk into town, it's about 20 minutes each way). The food at the hotel restaurant was absolutely fine with a fair selection but after having something to eat, as it's a motorway-side hotel there really isn't very much to do though there's an on-site bar and the staff were pleasant. The room size was ok but an earwig-type bug did try to hitch a ride in my partner's jeans the following morning so check your things before you leave.

Reviewed By hvetterKleines B&B nicht weit vom Zentrum der kleinen Stadt entfernt. Wir wurden freundlich empfangen und mit allen notwendigen Informationen versorgt. Unser Zimmer im Erdgeschoß war klein, aber gut ausgestattet, für eine Nacht alles bestens. Gutes Frühstück auf der Terrasse des Hauses.
