Visited here with family and was really disappointed at the quality of the hotel and staff. This hotel is not up to par with other Hampton Inns I’ve visited. For one thing, the rooms are seriously outdated. The room we had did not offer a refrigerator or microwave like other Hampton hotels. The bedding was outdated and well worn. My daughter booked the run thru Priceline so I was informed we were not eligible for any Hilton Honors benefits including a bottle of water. I was told it was an “honor” to be a member but since we didn’t book directly with them we wouldn’t get any benefit. The pool area was clean, but the pool itself was not well tended, there were several bugs and seeds in the pool making it unappealing. The breakfast was mediocre, muffins were dry and tasteless. Breakfast ended at 10 but at 9:30 there was no coffee even after a ten minute wait. Hotel was ok but definitely not worth the high rate and surly service.

Location, lobby and breakfast were all great! Employees very nice. Decaf coffee in lobby was always cold, even morning time. Mostly disappointed with room. New decor, but many maintenance problems ignored. Peeling wallpaper in corners, maybe from water damage. Bathroom tile very old with grout deteriorating. Shower head was unattached to wall and handheld showerhead (which I needed) was missing altogether. But the bathroom was super clean, so they get points for that.

I was in CA for a series of meetings and had to move from Sacramento to Elk Grove to Stockton. My stay was very pleasant. The place was clean and breakfast was acceptable, just as I expected it to be. Four days of stay was simple yet homely. Well done!

Free grab-and-go breakfast: Jumpstart your day with a free grab-and-go breakfast that includes a variety of breakfast bars and muffins, hot cereal, coffee, and tea.
They are about ten dollars a day cheaper then the much better hotel next door. I paid for a week before I learned that though. The staff were rude and untrustworthy and the rooms and hotel smelled like rotting food or garbage. I actually went and got a few cleaning supplies on my own because the bathroom was disgusting. The staff broke into my room, that was the last straw before I left and spent the rest of my time in town next door. Worst $875 I’ve ever spent probably.

TownePlace Suites by Marriott Elk Grove combines the comfort and warmth of a home-like feeling, with thoughtful amenities set in a convenient location.
Just spent a sleepless night here. Upon entering our "high floor" room on the 3rd floor, the room smelled musty with a slight hint of dog and as soon as I sat on the bed, I knew it was going to be a difficult night. The bed reminds me of my daughter's crib mattress - like sleeping on a dense, solid foam block. Tried to go to sleep about 9:30PM and couldn't because we could hear people talking and doors slamming until about 1:00AM. At one point someone was playing reggaeton music. After all that settled down, any time anyone moved in the bed the whole bed bounced so it was impossible to fall asleep. I went down to breakfast in the morning, which didn't look too appetizing. I passed on the sausage patties that were swimming in a watery, brown liquid. The eggs looked OK. I took a bite of one and bit into something crunchy so I spit that out and resolved to go to Starbucks. I was planning on staying in the room and working until checkout but there was a dog barking in the room next door nonstop so we checked out early. I saw as many dogs here as I did people. I don't want to stay in a dog hotel. These days, it's difficult to find hotels, especially in CA, that don't allow pets. Many of those that do have designated floors or rooms for people who bring their pets to stay in. I don't think that's the case here. Book a room here and chances are, someone's dog was sleeping/pooping/peeing/drooling in that spot just before you got there.
