First of all this tavern suffers from a lack of personality. It's advertised as a traditional Greek tavern, but it closes the eye to gourmet, but only in style,music and prices, not in food and quality, neither in professionalism. A traditional tavern with colored, modern dishes, salad with parmesan and balsamic, covered by the sounds of lounge music - actually only the 'Miss you' from Beat Les - is far from that.
Panagiotis - the owner - asked us to trust him, when asked for the menu. Mistake no 1 to avoid. Always ask for the menu to check prices. He advertised a lot boar whilst it's a long time that there is no boar hunting. So, where this boar has been found? Frozen from the market. Boar couldn't be chewed!
He proposed a mix of tomatoe, squash, potatoe balls as an alternative to the squash balls we wanted and we asked to pay for 3 different portions of total 8 balls!
Beef steak, was hard to cut and even harder to chew as well. It was even red and badly cooked, while never ask so.
Service was rather good and quick, while misunderstandings between the staf and Panagiotis led to a small fight in the kitchen, difficult to hide from customers nearby... So sad!
When we ask to pay, we were given an electronic form of a different order of total 105 euro. Mistake no 2 to avoid. Always check the bill.
We ask him to explain and Panagiotis apologised for the mistake. When we were given the new electronic form of our order, the amount due was 76.6 euro, for a portion of goat, a portion of boar in wine, meat balls, panagioti salad, a beef stake and the mix of balls!!! Quite unrealistic!
Official proof of purchase was not given, unless we specifically asked for. We gave 100 euro and we had only 4 euro change. We had to ask for the rest and another misunderstanding occured between the staf and Panagiotis as to who didn't give back the rest of the change...Mistake no 3 to avoid. Always check the change

Mistake no 4 to avoid. Always ask for the official proof of purchase. Have an official proof of what happened and make them pay the taxes they charge you.
Mr. Panagioti you are far from being a professional in your kitchen, or better, you are a professional in cheating other people! 3 consequtive mistakes in the very same order is not a coincidence. The sweet on the house at the end couldn't correct all this mess....
Now that you know, if you can't avoid this place, you know what mistakes to avoid!

We ate there 3 years ago, summer 2012. Clean place, and frienly staff. Awasome view, and warm atmosphere. Delicious food, i recommended wild boar steak and a greek cheese named ''galotiri''. Resonable prices for giant portions and high quality food!!! I will be back......

We had several great meals here- sampling the local "pilino" cooked items as well as off-the-grill items. Everything, including the "pita" of the day, was delicious!

What can you wait when the menu includes 30 main courses and 20 first? Definitely not a nouvelle cuisine but an average meal. That's what you get...the place is cosy, the servants polite and helpful but that's all. And the prices are not average...not recommended unless you are bored seeking for the place to be, because this tavern is in the centre of the village.

Although the restaurant did not have an impressive decor,it was warm and pleasant. Service was very good and food was good too. Greek tastes and of good quality in normal prices. Overall a good choice for Elati.

Τα Χριστουγεννα μαζί με την οικογενεια μου επισκεφτηκα για πρώτη φορα τα Τρίκαλα. Την δευτερη μέρα είπαμε να πάμε μια εκδρομή προς Ελάτη και Περτουλη .Πίνοντας ένα καφέ στην Ελατη πιάσαμε κουβέντα με κάτι ντόπιους,οι οποίοι οταν τους ρωτήσαμε που να φάμε για μεσημέρι μας συμβούλεψαν να μην φάμε στα τουριστικά αλλά να πάμε παρακάτω σε ενα μικρο χωριουδάκι που τρώνε όλοι οι ντόπιοι. Το χωριό λέγεται Κοτρωνι και ειναι λιγα χιλιόμετρα πιο κατω από την Ελατη επιστρέφοντας προς Πύλη και η ταβερνούλα Πλατάνια.
Ο χώρος ζεστός ,διακοσμημένος με το ίδιο στυλ που διακοσμουνται όλες οι ταβέρνες της επαρχίας...
Μέχρι εδω είμαστε ετσι και ετσι οπου ξαφνικα εμφανίζεται η κα Γιόυλι η χρυσοχέρα του μαγαζιού με μια πιατέλα ψημένο ζυμωτο ψωμί από τα χεράκια της ,ΜΕΛΙ

Φέρνει διάφορες πίτες με φύλλο απο τα χεράκια της ΜΕΛΙ

Nice food, huge restaurant with very good service. Stunning views in the valley. There are two of them, the great view is on the one just before Neraidochori.

We were searching for something different than the same saganaki , the same souvlaki that everybody is doing . So we found this warm and lovely place !!! The goat soup was great , the lamb in the oven marvelous !! The house offered as a desert a millefeuille !! Yummy !! Highly recommend for the service !!
