Wow, this place is a real gem, if you want a peaceful holiday, this place is for you, if you want a mad few days, then look somewhere else. First about the hotel, check in was quick, we had a sea view room, pay the extra you get a bigger balcony and a wonderful view, the sun is on the balcony all day. Room had all the usual things, AC , TV , lots of space in the wardrobe and a bath and power shower. We were AI as the hotel is in a remote area, the restaurant staff were lovely, so were the girls at the pool bar, they always had smiles on there faces. The food was great, my only regret is not having more chicken masala !! Special mention to Alba who took us down a walk down to the beech, she was great and a massive THANK YOU to Paula, she is an absolute credit to this hotel, she sorts every thing out, she is outstanding. Like i said this hotel has a remote location, if your a beech bum , you will love it, 2 big pools and loads of sun beds and a 5 minute walk from deserted beeches. We like to keep busy so we went out most mornings, then back for lunch and spent afternoons around the pool, people were bathing till 8pm. There are lots of walks , straight out of the hotel and into the forest, you can walk to El Rompido in 30 minutes, there is a Spa supermarket there, a few bars and a lighthouse, you can walk the other way to New Portil and its marina. The hotel offers a free ferry service to Fleche reserve , wow, its incredible, its uninhabited so we got the first boat across, wow, you walk across the marshland, there is a decking path and 5 minutes later you reach the Atlantic Ocean, we walked for over 2 hours and bumped into 3 people, total bliss, so much sea life washed up, loads of shells. We also went to Huelva, TUI offers a trip for 30 euros, err NO. Get the bus from the main road, 2.40 each way, it takes 30 minutes. Lots of photos from the renovated mining pier on the banks of the River Tinto, also british miners bought football over and opposite the pier is Recreativo Huelvas footie ground, they are the oldest professional club in Spain, look at the photos of their history outside the ground, we were lucky, a groundsman let us in to take a few photos. We also walked an hour and found William Martins grave, aka The Man Who Never Was. read about it.

This hotel is in a great location and has great facilities. We are cyclists and the benefit of a secure bike store on site was a huge benefit. The welcome by staff was excellent. The hotel was comfortable, clean and spacious.

a roadside hotel, just as i like it, with a lovely wiew over the farmland and pine forests. we were quite alone in this place which i am sure is packed in summer. family run/ not your average chain hotel. blankets for covers, but beds were ok. friendly folks here. we got a better room with a wiew for the same price even though we ordered a quite simple one. picked up a pine comb bic as a cat outside the hotel that were put in the suitcase for the rest of the trip. no other souvenirs needed. last stop before Portugal.

Nice new apartments but terrible beds. Reception not speaking English. Creepy gardener looking at my wife. Location is good but far away from the beach. El rompido also long walk. No wifi available. Pool was closed even though it was 25 degrees outside.

South Feel is a SUP, Kayak and Yoga school based in El Rompido, Cartaya. We offer lessons, rentals and accommodation for sun seekers and adventurers!
I was looking for water sports in El Rompido at the end of May. I saw paddle boards and kayaks outside with a price list while walking on the beach. A man greeted me and was happy to talk in English as I enquired about renting paddle boards and kayaks. I took out a paddle board and my sister went on a kayak and had a great time. The price was reasonable and we returned the next day to take out two paddle boards. The weather was a little windy on the second day for paddle boards but overall it was enjoyable.
