The waters are calm and brimming with unusual sea life, while aboveground the landscape is peppered with ancient and twisted trees. Explore the lovely villages and hilly stone-laid paths on foot, then feast on rustic meals of fresh fish, local cheeses and wild herbs.

The hotel is an excellent place to stay. All staff friendly and helpful. Our room had a terrace with beautiful views of the town and mountains. Good choice of continental style breakfast. Spotlessly clean. Thanks to all for a lovely stay.

How would you like to experience peace and tranquility like never before? The Parador de El Hierro is a paradise situated between a volcanic mountain and the blue ocean. The island is bathed by transparent waters and you will feel as if you are in a place only possible in your dreams. Because of the hotel's magnificent location, drops of seawater will sprinkle your strolls through the garden and the intense blue of the water will slip in through your window. The building's balconies put you so close to the ocean, you can almost touch it with your hand. From the garden, swimming pool and comfortable guest rooms, you will enjoy the gentle murmur of the waves. You will relax and rest, feeling at peace in this idyllic spot. El Hierro Island is bathed by transparent waters, making it ideal for diving lovers, who each year come from around the world to discover one of the best seabeds on the planet. It has been declared a World Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO and of all the islands in the Canary Islands archipelago, it is among the most exotic and virgin. Spring seems never to end here and the green subtropical vegetation in the fertile areas contrasts with the fascinating volcanic features on other parts of the island, including the Parador’s location. As you travel along a relaxing road bordering the ocean, you will enjoy unique landscapes. And at the end of your journey, you will come to the Parador de El Hierro, an invitation to relax that you will find hard to resist. We stayed for a week and what a find. El Hierro was fabulous as was the hotel. We have been to La Gomera on numerous occasions but never to El Hierro. It was a challenge to get here involving two flights, a taxi transfer between airports and a hire car to the hotel. We arrived very tired but were welcomed in by Joanna, who was excellent throughout our week's stay. She was always willing to chat and always welcomed us back each day and asked us where we had been. The hotel location was excellent, we fell asleep each night to the sound of crashing waves. The bathroom could do with some updating and parts of the hotel could do with some tlc. The food was very good although the menu never changed throughout the week we were there. Overall everything was great and we had a wonderful holiday???

We just spent 5 nights in this hotel and it certainly lived up to our expectations and more. The hotel is a bit away from most places but a short drive in any direction takes you to some stunning scenery ( the hotel also has a spectacular setting). One key thing - you really need a car. The hotel is small , 20 rooms, the staff are very helpful and mostly the food is good. Breakfast has a great spread of fruit (always just right for eating) and then the sort of breads , cereals , cold meats and small cakes and biscuits which you might expect. There are some days with eggs and hot dog type sausages too. Evening meals are not so good; choices are very healthy but sometimes a bit overcooked and wine selection is quite limited. There is a decent sized swimming pool which is great and usually with very few people. Finally, try to reserve early to get a sea view room we did not and regretted it. No matter, the rooms are fairly large and comfortable especially since the hotel is only 3* ( there is a kettle for a late night cuppa).

This is a small friendly hotel that we thought was excellent value for money. The view from our room was to die for. The location is perfect for walking both locally and further afield as the bus stops virtually outside the hotel. The island has a remarkably cheap bus service which makes walking easy. There was a good buffet breakfast and a kettle was supplied in the room to make drinks. There was a fridge so it was possible to have milk from the breakfast buffet. There were lots of local dishes in the restaurant across the road which is owned by the same people. There are 2 other bars with food in the village as well as a bakery and 2 supermarkets. We loved it here.

However, the walls are very thin so I could hear the people in the next room especially when the snoring woke me up at 03.00. Could hear doors banging & toilets flushing! A little expensive for what it was although the rooms were clean, lovely hot water & new fluffy towels. Staff were friendly. I need to improve my Spanish as no English was spoken & we should not expect everyone to speak English especially when we visit remote places like El Hierro!

Pretty rural canary style house of lava and wood ceilings, stone floor, friendly sleep -living room with double bed, sofa bed and with old epoch furniture, dormer, bath lined also with lava stones, typical canary kitchen and a pretty stone porch with barbecue to enjoy roasters outdoors. The home is located in elegantly rustic with large fruit-bearing orchards area dated back to 1890,originally an old stable completely reformed which conserves the structure of the traditional architecture El Hierro-style.
Comfortable, clean, well-kept house, well located close to several municipalities on the island, the people of the surrounding area very friendly. Very close to restaurants where to eat and have breakfast, for me it was important because I did not feel like cooking at home, it is also important to have a supermarket very close. Very nice gardens and porch. The next time I will visit the house longer and with my couple. I recommend it. I also really liked to spend a few days having satellite television.

Only adults. The World’s smallest hotel, in the most amazing and unique location, where you feel at the end of the world. Only 4rooms, 1 suite , directly on the ocean.
My wife and I stayed here for our anniversary and I can safely say it was the best decision of the trip. The hotel is a unique experience in a dreamlike location. Every little detail has been thought of and it has an incredible style that you can only find from independent hotels with owners that have a passion for what they do. We felt like we had been welcomed into the home of Davide and Paula but still had the privacy to enjoy our vacation - the perfect balance. The hotel is very special and the food exquisite - If you have the opportunity do not miss the chance to stay here - it really is a contender for best hotel in the world. Below is a bit more detail: The hotel is a short and very scenic drive from both the airport and the port. A taxi is possible and inexpensive but renting a car is definitely the best option as the island deserves to be explored. On arrival at the hotel the first thing that happens is your breath is taken away. The location of the hotel is just stunning and it blends in perfectly with the Atlantic Ocean on one side and the sheer mountain cliffs in the other side. It feels like you are on a wild tropical island. We were greeted by Paula who was super friendly and made sure we settled in nicely and gave a very nice introduction to the hotel and a good demonstration of the features of our room. Perfect start. The hotel is decorated with one of a kind items and several of the articles are significant to the history of the hotel or the island. You could easily spend many hours just looking at the decoration. The room itself was unlike any room I have ever stayed in. We were staying in the suite and the only way I can really describe it is perfect. The deign and style is unique, the wooden shower cabin with skylight is the best way to start the day. Front and back balconies giving the best views and sun opportunities whatever the weather or time of day. The bed is like sleeping on a cloud and you can even watch the stars through the window above the bed. For a small hotel there is a lot of storage space so you can keep the room spacious and it is very very private. You could easily stay in the room for the whole week and it would not feel wasted. The food. It is hard to use words to describe the eating experience, it is just too good for words. I’ll try though. Breakfast was a wonderfully presented selection of treats, all of the highest quality. Freshly made bread, top quality meats and cheeses, fresh fruit (mostly local) and perfect cakes to satisfy the sweet tooth. The coffee is spectacular and comes with a fun surprise (no spoilers). My wife has several complicated food allergies and these were catered for perfectly and she was especially impressed by the cakes which is normally never possible for her to take. Dinner - so good that we had it twice! Initially we decided we would have dinner on our anniversary as a treat, and what a treat it was. However, as it was so good and there are two different chefs we decided to have dinner in the hotel twice in the three nights we were there. All the courses are carefully crafted and fantastically tasty. The presentation and quality is more than equal to what you can experience in the best restaurants in London or Paris. The whole experience is made complete by the history of the hotel which is narrated between courses. The wine selection is also sublime and I would highly recommend trying the local selections. Huge thanks to Paula and Davide who have created this amazing experience and spent so much energy making us feel welcome and adding a personal level to an amazing experience. We will be back as soon as we have the chance!

Had a great time here. The concierge arrived with a big basket of groceries which was nice. The accommodation is clean and spacious. There's a lovely communal terrace upstairs. The staff were very helpful and informative about the best local restaurants etc. (You have to go to Guachinche Frontera).

This hotel has seen better days and both service (front staff mostly invisible) and cleaning could be very easily improved but the location is perfect, the small room ok for one or two nights and the price at the right level. On top of that that there is not much in terms of hotels offer in La Restinga, so you might end up there whether you’re willing or not!
