We had an absolutely wonderful experience at El Caminante. Martha is very warm and welcoming, and was really comprehensive in getting us set up to hike in the national park. She made sure we had everything we needed, including making sure we did it in the most convenient and least expensive way possible. She guided us on one of the days and her husband guided us another, and it was a really special experience. Additionally, the hostel itself is clean, comfortable, and has nice homey touches. Highlights include the hot showers, cozy beds (it gets very cold at night in El Cocuy), and hammocks on the upper level. We would strongly recommend El Caminante to anyone traveling to El Cocuy!

Hotel Pinares Carrizalito is situated in a tranquil green oasis overlooking the town of El Cocuy, 2.5km from the town (free pick up from the bus station and drop off when leaving) This prestigious romantic Villa surrounds the guests in a peaceful relaxing atmosphere with plenty of space and romantic views of the mountains.
We decided to go somewhere off the beaten path after visiting the Moroccan flea market that was Cartagena, which lead us to El Cocuy. The owners, Ana and Alberto, are very nice and hospitable. Our night bus from Bogota arrived in El Cocuy around 5 AM, and Alberto was down in the town square awaiting our arrival, as we had coordinated our timing prior to arriving. They brought us to and from the town square multiple times throughout the trip, very helpful. The stay comes with the option of breakfast lunch and dinner daily, for which we opted yes. All the food was delicious. The room was comfortable and came with cable TV, the views were GORGEOUS. The owners were so sweet and engaging and made the trip very, very special. I would recommend to anyone going to Colombia that they go to El Cocuy and stay with Ana and Alberto!

Honestly after looking around a small town trying to find a hotel with parking for the motorbike we came across molino. Located just around the corner from the police station, they have credit card machine, hot water, restaurant, great rooms, very very polite and friendly staff. There were a few people at the hotel so we needed up getting separate rooms but they were huge ! The rooms were located out the back, two floors, bathroom, WiFi, towel, hot water, safe and secure! At the entrance they had a detailed map of the Sierra Nevada cocuy, very informative staff who were ready to help at every chance. The staff speak Spanish but do their very very best to speak English ! Great hotel, Great staff, super food options and I just loved the smiles!

The Hotel San Gabriel is somewhere modest, but utterly charming and perfectly maintained, high in character and low in price. The hotel occupies a historic building, and is located in one of the most charming corners of El Cocuy. It offers an excellent space to launch a trip to the PNN Cocuy or for that matter, wind down and regroup for the next leg of one's trip.
