Prasek's Hillje Smokehouse

We are famous for our jerky and sausage and smokehouse products, but we are so much more. We are a bakery, specialty meat market, restaurant, convenience store, gift shop, ice cream parlor, and Prasek's gear. We also offer a huge line of wines, specialty food products, outdoor fire pits, grills, hunting gear, deer stands, fishing gear, Yeti coolers, and Costa sunglasses and gear. We are your One Stop Shop!

Perhaps because we come from the UK, but not what we expected. A fairly long wait for our food, although we asked a few times where it was, having to get to Houston airport. Expensive for basically a burger and a sandwich, with a side of fries for each of us. Thought when I ordered I would be getting a chicken SALAD not a chicken salad sandwich. Also thought the meats, cheeses etc on display for sale were expensive . Disappointing.

The menu has been down sized with a smaller selection. You can still get the good choices of dairy treats and what not but they used to have really good Mexican fare for a very reasonable price. I guess the local competition or the corporate decision made them change. I miss their food. Now they are my stop for ice cream and sundaes,

I am part of the over 60 crowd in the morning. The pigs in a blanket are my favorite. We show up at 0500 and the place is ready to go. Donuts are good but you have many other choices in the rack. The yeast dough is really good and I prefer it over some of the competition in town. This place is just across the street from McDonalds. We usually watch the lights come on in McD's then go over for the second breakfast. There is a second Daylight Donuts a little down the street that serves full breakfast plates in a slightly larger room. I highly recommend them both.

We were in the area and tried this based on TripAdvisor reviews. We all got burgers which were tasty and well cooked without being dry. The fried mozzarella and zucchini were excellent. Fries are steak fries - done well but wish they were regular. Atmosphere is comfortable and very clean. Friendly staff and quick service. Highly recommend it.

This is one of my favorite places to eat Mexican food in El Campo. I can go there for breakfast for tacos, lunch for a great special and in the evening they have excellent enchiladas. Even though the building is old the food is cooked to order & it is very good.

My wife and I stumbled across this restaurant. Very good food. We shared the blackened tilapia covered with etouffee. Good spices and a reasonable amount of food. There is a duck pond out front where the kids can feed the ducks (50cent charge for food) and a candy/gift shop next door. They even have an RV park attached in the back. All in all, a very nice stop.

BBQ is the normal selection but on Friday, Saturday and Sunday they also offer a variety of southern style foods. Good chicken fried steaks, chicken strips, and side dishes. The weekend buffet is self-serve. The BBQ is not self serve. A salad bar is also available with the buffet.
I recommend this if you are hungry and want a casual self-serve dining. Good value for the money. Wonderful sweet tea!

Whenever we get a chance to pass through El Campo, we always stop at Los Cucos for a meal. The food and service has been consistently excellent. Our waiter was attentive, the meal, arrived piping hot and tasty, and the portions were very generous. We definitely left fully satisfied and full. The management at this Los Cucos seems to have the restaurant business down cold, and this location is the best in their chain, without a doubt. I can't wait for our next trip through the area.

This was a nice little hole in the wall in a very small town. It's in an old historic building and parking is eclectic, but unless it's honky think night, the place is not really full. The food is good and slightly better than average, but not gourmet. It's fresh and tasty. But the prices are Houston 4 star dining high. I don't think it was worth it at all. The staff were very nice and, though old, the place was clean. The prices fell short.

We ate here while evacuated from Houston during Hurricane Harvey. We tried the burgers for lunch and they were good. Not outstanding but good enough. This is kind of a small place and not particularly clean. Could use a good sprucing up. However the food hit the spot during a crazy time in our lives.
