This is a mobile kitchen parked behind Flowers Seafood on the way on to Edisto Island, SC. The family owns their own shrimp boats and sell seafood out of a small building near the street. When you order they pick out the fresh seafood and cook it for you. You eat outside under large Live Oaks with hanging Spanish Moss. I have photos to share.
the blue building in front is so you can purchase fresh seafood and prepare yourself. Behind it is a food trailer where you can order. Picnic tables available to stay and dine outdoors or take home. Once you order they have outdoor lounge chairs under an awning for while you wait. We waited about 20 min and there was a fair amt of people there. They are only open TH-SAT so plan accordingly. Shrimp and hushpuppies were amazing!

If you're looking for ice cream this may be the only spot on the island you can find some. The ice cream was okay. No soft serve though.

This is not really a restaurant, but a place to purchase fresh seafood. They also have all kinds of mixes & sauces for seafood.
Been stopping here for years for primarily shrimp, fresh off the boat. This time the boat was tied up out back. Picked up some shrimp for dimmer couple times over the last two weeks.
Highly recommended for seafood, especially the shrimp. Think we will go by one more time before we leave.
Ok, just a note, this is not a restaurant but they sell seafood. You will need to bring home and cook yourself. Need to know how to cook it, the best people to tell you are behind the counter.

Read the reviews and decided to go here for lunch. Very Glad We Did. We had the Barbeque Pork Sandwich & the Philly Steak Sandwich. Both were excellent! The sandwiches came with Fries & Cole Slaw. Very large & filling meal. We ordered the Sweet Tea & Coke for drinks. Free refills on both drinks! They also have beer & wine. Total with tax was $25.08.
The layout is "Casual/Relaxed". You have the option to eat in the building, on the porch or on picnic tables outside. Location is on Jungle Rd off Hwy 74, then go about one block. As of March 1st, they are open for Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, except Monday when they are open for Breakfast & Lunch only.

Came with family and two small children. Shop is small and got very busy while we were there. Yogurts, Italian ice, jelly beans, candy and toys. Has some sitting stools but no water to drink. You can buy a soda in bottles. Service was good but line for long.

WOW! Great place for Lunch or Dinner. VERY CASUAL LAYOUT. Food is Great, Service is Excellent. This is a favorite for many people. The inside area has room for about 25 people. Overflo can eat in the covered porchlike area, which I believe has heating torches. Our lunch with drinks & dessert was a total of $27.23.
Mc Conkey's is located off Hwy 174 at 108 Jungle Rd in Edisto Beach. Go about one block, it's on the left. Did I mention "VERY CASUAL LAYOUT?

We arrived on a Friday evening about 7:00. It was very busy and we were told for quicker service to sit outdoor, which would of been nicer had it not been cold and windy!! Our waitress, Michelle or Melissa, I believe was super nice. Our wait for food was very long. It was after 9 before our food arrived. It was almost worth the wait. Food was great.....very fresh and the cheese sticks were to die for!!! The best I have ever had..They even brought us an extra plate of them!! I would recommend and will return.

We are a local seafood restaurant serving for lunch and dinner. We also offer a wide variety of non seafood items and amazing desserts.
Whaley's is the biggest surprise on Edisto Island. An old converted gas station with a really eclectic interior, but the food is fantastic. Very casual atmosphere and presentation but the scallops they served were as good as you will get anywhere. Their element seems to be seafood but other items are also available, They have platters, sandwiches, salads, soups, etc.

Good restaurant, good food, good service and nice atmosphere. The menu is very limited in the winter, not sure about summer months. Prices are higher than other restaurants in the area, bur the atmosphere is also of a higher quality.
