Visited for dinner with another couple. Ordered tube pasta with scallops in a cream sauce. Pasta was overcooked and mushy. My wife ordered a vegetarian pasta dish in Pesto sauce. Veggies were barely cooked and cold. Everything is a la carte including the bread? Would skip this place if you are looking for a value with good cuisine.

Fabulous place to have breakfast. Large menu with a lot of variety. The restaurant was very busy but the staff keep with the the traffic and was very friendly. Food served fast and hot.

Perusing the choices for the first-ever Eau Claire Restaurant Week, we came across the listing for "Nuc' at Nite". What and where is that? Turns out it's the new evening-hours menu at the renowned breakfast place on Eau Claire's Water Street "The Nucleus"!
One look at the enticing and amazing menu, and we had to go give it a try.
Arriving at about 5:30pm, we were the first in the door for that evening, and by the time we left at about 6:45, there were maybe only 5-6 other tables filled. You are missing out!
The Restaurant Week special was a real bonus (and ends on Sunday 9/24), even considering how reasonable the prices are for these gourmet plates everyday. For only $35, we got a "Starter" and two "Plates", plus two glasses of wine--a $53 value! We'd forgo the wine, get a microbrew bottle for only $4.00 and my wife's ice tea, and start in on the appetizer.
We could have had a roasted Beet Salad or Eggrolls, but chose the Crab and Smoked Salmon Pinxos, which features a heap of lump crab on a smoked salmon filet and a spritz of caviar topping a toasted baguette. Easily $6 of each seafood combined on the two baguettes...and very tasty!
For our entree we could have had Crab Cakes, a Flank Steak Salad, Shrimp Tacos, a Lobster Roll, a green curried Halibut, Lobster Mac and Cheese or a Hungarian Stew. Our waitress Samantha Recommended the Tuna Tower and the Crispy Duck, and she was right!
The Tuna Tower was sesame crusted seared ahi tuna with avocado over rice, with pickled vegetables (onions/peppers) and a bright green seaweed salad. Bordering on a sushi dish, but prepared, cooked and presented beautifully.
I chose the Crispy Duck, which was slices of pan-seared duck breast fanned out next to the mushroom risotto, and topped with a blackberry red wine sauce. Delectable!
Both plates were beautifully arranged, the food was the correct temp and the timing was perfect. Samantha provided very attentive service for us.
We rarely find something this well-executed in Eau Claire--certainly not for this price of $41 plus $12 worth of wine if we wanted...all for just $35 during this promotion.
Where was everybody? Why is this so unappreciated? This place has a stellar rep for the best breakfast in town, yet apparently the evening hours have failed to attract the numbers since their inception in mid-July. Too bad. I hope owner Jeremy can find a way to still present many of these fine menu items somewhere during the day, because we could be back for a month of weekends, and still not get through everything we'd want from this varied menu.
Keep up the amazing breakfasts, and with menu possibilities like these, don't stop trying to expand into a fine dinner destination as well.

Where Faith, Family, and Friends Matter Most
I was in town for a business trip looking for a good supper so I went to my TripAdvisor app to find a highly rated restaurant. I chose Randy’s Family Restaurant and found out what true disappointment is. Ordered the cheese curds with a side of ranch dressing. One of my go to favorite WI go to find out the flavor of both the cheese curds and ranch to be disappointing. The cheese curds tasted like bad oil and the ranch dressing had an off sour taste as well. Had a side salad that was probably the highlight of the meal consisting of iceberg lettuce with a few carrots shreds and way too much dressing. For an entrée of the chicken Drumsticks I was able to experience some of the most tasteless chicken I have ever had. Thankfully they were out of the strawberry rhubarb pie so I just left at that point with complete disappointment not to return again.

Texas Roadhouse is a steak restaurant providing legendary food with legendary service. Texas Roadhouse specializes in hand-cut steaks, fresh-baked bread, fall-off-the-bone-ribs, and made-from-scratch sides. We also serve ice cold beer and legendary margaritas. Treat your family and friends to a night at Texas Roadhouse.
Average prices, tasty food. It is a chain restaurant so it is no better or worse than all the others, with the exception of the service! I found the service to be extremely attentive and polite! Good variety of food if someone doesn’t care for steak, like one of my children.

It was a very busy place but service was super nice. Our party of six ordered different items from the menu: spring and egg rolls, soup, salad, tofu stir fry, etc. Everything was cooked to the appropriate temperature. Portions were generous and everyone was very happy with the taste. We will return.

Been here several times and never been disappointed. They have a great selection of beer, appetizers and burgers.
Tonight I had the Hangover Burger with fries. I highly recommends the cheese curds too!
Fast and friendly service. Waitstaff does a great job with recommendations. Prices are right.

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse Eau Claire brings a new dining experience to the heart of the Chippewa Valley. Located in the beautiful Holiday Inn and Suites, Johnny’s offers guests a casual dining experience in an elegant setting. Johnny’s Blue Bar has an extensive selection of wine and cocktails. Our Culinary Institute of America trained Executive Chef prepares delicious steaks, seafood, Italian specialties and desserts.
I would definitely recommend Johnny’s for date night in Eau Claire. Extremely delicious food and good service. We went with 4 other couples for New Year’s Eve and every single person loved their food which I find to be rare. They have the most delicious bread I’ve ever had and their soup and salad was also wonderful. I’d recommend the Parmesan crusted New York strip! Yummy, will definitely be back!

We joined our friends for dinner on a Sunday night. the service was very good, although I was over charged by $1. Probably a mistake. I had the 9oz sirloin and ordered it medium rare. Unfortunately, it came medium well and tasted a little like cardboard. The broccoli was also over cooked and mushy. My wife had the fire grilled chicken and said it was quite good. It is an OK restaurant, but little things like how your meat is cooked matter.

This has been our favorite steak place for years and years, especially if we want to enjoy dinner with small group. Great service, good bar, wide menu, excellent preparation. Relaxed, local vibe. This is a good place to enjoy your dinner company without a lot...MoreThank you. We appreciate the kind words.
