Reviews on Seafood food in Trincomalee, Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. Trincomalee (English: /ˌtrɪŋkoʊməˈliː/; Tamil: திருகோணமலை Tirukōṇamalai; Sinhalese: ත්රිකුණාමළය Trikuṇāmalaya) also known as Gokanna, is the administrative headquarters of the Trincomalee District and major resort port city of Eastern Province, Sri Lanka. Located on the east coast of the island overlooking the Trincomalee Harbour, 113 miles south of Jaffna and 69 miles north of Batticaloa, Trincomalee has been one of the main centres of Sri Lankan Tamil language speaking culture on the island for over two millennia. With a population of 99,135, the city is built on a peninsula of the same name, which divides its inner and outer harbours. People from Trincomalee are known as Trincomalians and the local authority is Trincomalee Urban Council. Trincomalee city is home to the famous Koneswaram temple alluded to in its historic Tamil name Thirukonamalai and is home to other historical monuments such as the Bhadrakali Amman Temple, Trincomalee, the Trincomalee Hindu Cultural Hall and, opened in 1897, the Trincomalee Hindu College. Trincomalee is also the site of the Trincomalee railway station and an ancient ferry service to Jaffna and the south side of the harbour at Muttur.

There are two Ninaâs restaurants there, both serving the same dishes. We mainly went for the one of the main Nilaveli Street. Breakfast options are great. Highly recommend dosa and roti. We are the very famous Sea Food Meals in Trincomalee, Always we are cooking fresh sea foods. Special Cooking Sri Lanka Rice & Curry, Sri Lanka Style Crab Hot & Milk Curry with chill Beer
Authentic curry and rice - one of the best we had so far! Also had grilled tuna which was very fresh and grilled to perfection.Staff were really friendly and always making sure everything was going well. Had a mango Lassi which was DELICIOUS. Another good thing was they were playing nice music, and not horrible house/trance like so many other places, so the ambience was really nice! :)Would totally recommend!!

We came here early and even though it wasnât yet open the owner let us in and let us sit down in the shade to cool off inside with the fan.We ordered pizza, garlic bread, spaghetti carbonara and spaghetti bolognese. In a previous review a comment was made about how the pizza looked and tasted like frozen pizza. I can say that the pizza was not frozen pizza. Be aware these pizzas are not your typical Italian thin crust, Chicago deep dish or New York style pizzas you may be accustomed to. These are Sri Lankan roti based pizzas and still come with tomato sauce, cheese and toppings but will not taste the same or have the same texture as the more western classics. They are delicious nevertheless, but they are certainly different. The carbonara was a little bland and could have used more bacon but the bolognese was excellent. They also make a great roti based garlic bread. Highly recommend trying this. It is NOT on the menu. The owner is very friendly and really wants to make you happy. They do their best and their prices are moderate. One needs to update their expectations but if you are looking for a good pasta place in the area, you will be hard pressed to find a better on than here.Highly recommend.

My boyfriend and I went there two times and we ordered the same dishes twiceThe Chicken Curry was our best and the Chop suey comes with a good sweet & sour sauce. (The chop suey s got a lot of spring onions inside.)The service was both times nice & friendly!

Be it a quick coffee, a family dine-out or those daring for a touch of adventure and craving for delights the ocean has to offer, come on over and hang out. We'd love to spoil you with our deliciously delectable treats.
It's a small cafe which seats maybe 16 - 20 people, run by a cool and dedicated team. The focus is on delicious, organic food spanning a wide variety. We went there twice as every family member loved it. Try the berry bowl or the salads and their sandwiches are delicious as are the fresh drinks, well you will have to try all this out by yourself. Enjoy.

We were staying in Nilavelli for two weeks and went back to this restaurant several times due to the fabulous food! The fish was very fresh and cooked to perfection. All credit to the chefs, who really know their food. The whole ambience of Red Lobster was superb, with great music playing and very friendly and welcoming staff! Cant wait to go back next year!
