Our Norwegian friends brought us here for a traditional Norsk meal and it sure delivered! Just exploring the traditional Norwegian fixtures in the restaurant alone is a delight before you get to the great food, emphasizing traditional dishes. For those into wine, this restaurant boasts one of the best wine cellars in Norway! Though not inexpensive, hallingstuene is a must for that one special night of your stay in Geilo to get the true experience!

We were driving from Oslo to Bergen and decided to stop in Geilo which we knew nothing about. It was just luck that we ended up in Sophia's Cafe. We both enjoyed the burger which was topped with bacon, cheese and very mayonaisey cole slaw. I confess that we ate this twice since we decided to spend the night at the adjoining hotel on our way back to Oslo. I also had the shrimp and crawfish sandwich which was also good although again a little generous with the mayo. My boyfriend had the pastrami/cheese sandwich which he thought was really good. Service was friendly.

Café, lounge and bar. Hand made food, from scratch with local suppliers. Nice lounge and bar, where you can relax and put your head back, listening to chill music and have something good to drink.

People should avoid this place.Me and my girlfriend (Italian people) went there to have dinner (31/8) and there was a sort of party inside and the bar was full of people, I waited in front of bar counter and since the two men behind it didn't say a word I asked them if there was a free table. One of the two turned his head away and didn't say anything, not even a greeting. The other asked something to the first one that continued to say nothing. The message was clear: we were not welcome, even not to talk with us.These people that treat in this way other people don't deserve to receive money from anybody.Rudeness next to xenophobia.
