Major Fraserâs is a Craft Bar and Eatery. The word craft is pivotal to everything that we do at Major Fraserâs. For us âcraftâ means creativity, uniqueness and quality with a touch of quirkiness. This is built into everything we do; our drinks, our food,
We visited Grahamstown for the National Arts Festival. Lots of events, needed to grab and go. We ate here twice, a delicious pizza and, secondly, the wonderful wood fire roasted tomato soup and cheese toastie. What a treat, both awesome and, a delicious draft IPA to wash both down. Worthy of your consideration! Thanks for great review! We have recently added a canvas roof structure to make our outdoor seating a bit warmer on the chilly evenings. We hope to see you at Major Fraserâs again soon.

The beloved Rat and Parrot is the best-known pub in Grahamstown. We serve amazing food, from juicy steaks to scrumptious pizza, and of course, the coldest beer in town. A place of many special memories and exciting new beginnings.
The pub is large and if sport is your thing there are screens everywhere. But it also serves great beer and very good steak. Pizzas were ok. They have a large wood fired oven. But Iâve had better. Crusts are thin and crispy but too much rubbery cheese for me and itâs not fresh mozzarella which might be rather harsh given where we are! Great service though. Really friendly people and efficient too. The steak was amongst the best Iâve had.

I recently went to the Highlander for breakfast with both family and friends. My favourite is always softly scrambled eggs, and I have found a new favourite restaurant to serve them. The eggs were done to perfection and the mushrooms were perfectly prepared. My only reservation was the Nespresso coffee, but I think I would be in the minority there. :)

During our Visit to Grahamstown we visited Gino's with our good friends. However as the night went on our experience was no where near the standard we would have expected. It started with the staff not knowing who was looking after us or what was available Strike 1. Myself and friend ordered a jack Daniels and Coke and a Spiced Gold and Coke. Within 5mins one of the waitresses came to explain these drinks were not available, strike 2.We then ordered our pizzas, the boys asked for large and the female ordered a medium. However when my friends large came it was tiny, my large was slightly bigger and then the medium pizza was the biggest (what you would expect a large to be) considering the price difference on the sizes this was not acceptable. We then proceeded to try and eat the pizzas, however trying to cut into the pizzas proved impossible, we would have needed a hacksaw rather than a knife, Strike 3.To state the the food and customer experience was truly unacceptable is a minor understatement .ThanksJames and Shaye

Pleased to find take away open so late, went there just after 11:00pm as we had been at a party and had not had dinner. The wait was a bit long but the establishment was busy being a student town so this was understandable.
