Nice hotel with bar restaurant and pool. Lots of instagramable photo ops on property. It i great that everything you could need is on site as it is a bit of a distance from town. They do have a shuttle into town but I did not use it. The pool is nice a biut small but nobody else used it in the 2 days I was there. The employees are very friendly especially Sefrin who I spoke with many times. The food was very good in the restaaurant. The property seems well kept but it is showing some wear but is is kept very clean. I woudn't hesitate to stay here again.

Glad we found this place :) The hostel is cozy and homey. Cool location, the middle of the city, close to ATMs, local warungs etc. We took a private room for three nights, the room is simple but comfortable and has everything you need for a hostel. AC + fan, private bathroom (no hot water) with breakfast. The staff is super kind and warm. Arya, the manager, is the highlight of this place. Arranging scooter rent, airport transport, and the boat trip were easy and smooth (making sure we had our breakfast even for an early trip). He also gave us recommendations of places to visit and avoid. Careful though, if you're not a heavy sleeper, the hostel is between two mosques and the prayers will probably wake you up. The rooms are also close to the main area (restaurant and reception) so if you're not an early bird... Would recommend this place 100%.

Sunset Hill Hotel is located on a gorgeoushilltop in Labuan Bajo, Flores, Indonesia. Peace, tranquility, stunning sunsets and spectacular sea view!
After 4 days live on boat, my family of 13 pax forced to stay one more night in Labuan Bajo because there was changes in our flight. Luckily we found this small hotel located at the hills. It was quiet and comfy, far from the hustle bustle of crowds. It’s just feels like home. Room was spacious, has great view overlooking the sea. We enjoyed last sunset in their resto at 6th floor. It has amazing view and yummy Carbonara spaghetti. We ordered ala carte breakfast (not include in the room rate) and the taste was nice. Also, free airport transfer was a plus, considering there were no public transport in Labuan Bajo. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay in Sunset Hill hotel. All the staffs were very helpful, especially Mr.Andri (the receptionist) and the lady in the resto. They really put their effort to make the best of our stay.

We are here to help you relax your mind and body. In our resort you find everything what you need for rest. The All area is quiet place with many interesting spots for snorkelling, diving or just chilling. When you come to Mario Hotel you fall in love to pure nature around and beautiful ocean view from your room.
It was a good stay. One of the best service in Tambolaka. They have private beach. The staff very friendly. I can enjoy sunset and sunrise from their beach. Nice place to stay and it is worth enough to pay the value. I will stay here again if come back to this island again.

A very average hotel, which is a pity as it has the elements to be much more. Very lacklustre staff, very basic breakfast with no buy in option, virtually no internet, and no water pressure in the coroded showers. The Web aspect is especially frustrating as there is also little cell signal meaning I couldn't even teether. Very disappointing as rooms were clean and location is good.

Where do I start?! The images used by the property to advertise the resort are extremely misleading and a complete misrepresentation of the property. The whole resort is unclean, uncared for and not maintained. Plants are dying/dead, paths are overgrown, pools are unclean and damaged, ac smells of mould, animals living the the roof, bathrooms represent a prison cell, and the manager needs basic training in hospitality and customer service.... I could go on. I took lots of pictures as proof that the resort is misleading their customers and offering accommodation WELL above a price suitable for the current state of the resort. I visited the ‘resort’ with a friend. Upon arrival our first opinions of the resort were ‘this is not like the pictures’. We unpacked, turned on the ac and contemplated what to do, as there was a storm starting to approach Sumba. We asked Ibu Anna (manager) if we could use the internet to plan our trip on google maps as the storm approaching had changed our plans. Ibu Anna said there was no internet to use, even tho her staff and herself logged into wifi (that I have a screenshot of) This level of service didn’t sit well with us, specially due to the level of need to contact family and search alternatives! Cyclone off shore and flood warning calls for use of internet!!! On returning to the room, the were met with an awful smell of mould coming from the aircon, and a very loud noise of a family of birds from the low ceiling above one of the beds. We asked to move rooms and this process was handled ok, with staff helping us move our belongings in the rain, to a larger room. This larger room had a balcony covered in extra furniture (tables, clothes racks and wooden chairs etc) and Ibu Anna explained that this would be removed.... never was! I was not going to pay ‘extra’ for this ‘upgrade’ see pictures of the bathroom for a visual.... I have many more I wish to share. During our three night stay (4 nights booked) we had to ask twice for the room to be cleaned and when I asked for a refund for the final night we choose not to stay, as we decided to make our way closer to the north near the airport for departure, we were told no refund!! It is with all this, and other examples and evidence, that I asked the property for a refund. Rua Beach has totally misrepresented the property and offered no solution or sincere apology. Instead I was met with a staff member telling me ‘Hallo mr.(I’m not a Mr!!!) I am sorry Why u asking me the refund ? You book through booking.com right The you stay as your booking in our resort It so funny you are said dispointed then you askung refund You have to know There is no booking.com contact us (booking.com had contacted them) Only through email telling that you only complain (yeah correct, I have complained, and you have received notification of this) Then you know exactly when you book through booking.com rules Then you know also you was check in and check out Mr i am so sorry there is no refundable You can do what you what to do on social media We had do best for you since you stay in our place’ Since then they have deleted their WA picture and my replies have been sent, but not delivered!!! The inappropriateness and lack of professionalism is just unbelievable. For the mentioned above, and much more- DO NOT BOOK at this so called ‘resort’ !!!

Blue Parrot is a B&B. We provide very comfortable and tasteful rooms with a quality international breakfast served when our guests request to coordinate with their daily activity. We also serve coffee, tea and cold beer. Our lounge/breakfast area encompasses all of the second floor overlooking the ocean, port and islands. We have Wi-Fi in this area and to a certain degree on the hotel grounds and rooms. We try to the best of our ability to assist our guests in any way we can. We do this by being available, giving directions and/or maps and recommending dive/snorkelling operators, motorbike rental locations and restaurants and tour operators. We are located within a 10 minute walk from all the dive shops, tour operators, restaurants, port and boats. We are less than a 5 minute walk to the local night food vendors and fish market in one direction and Paradise Bar with live band in the other. Our rooms are soundproofed with very thick walls and the gardens and verandas with rustic stone walls surrounding provide a sense of tranquility and peace.
We booked via bookings.com and Blue parrot turned out to be a Bait and switch!! We booked a Double room w a sea view but when you arrive they give you the "garden room". The fine print bookings.com description says sea view from garden balcony. There is no real garden or balcony!! Just a concrete mildewy wall with an obstructed sea view. Front desk staff speak no English (not that they should in their own country) so when you try to communicate that you booked a sea view room they don't understand a word you're saying. All the men kept demanding was our credit card, which he insisted on running before we even see saw our room. I asked to speak to the front desk's manager. He called a staff member that spoke a little bit of broken English. The man immediately began to yell at me and tell me that I didn't book a sea view room because they were all full, as if I didn't have my confirmation in front of me which confirmed my sea view room. "The manager" was very rude and berated me as if I was a child and told me to leave and find another hotel. Recognizing similar behavior that we'd experienced in the Maldives and other countries where men lack respect for women and don't allow them to make decisions or take authoritative stances, my husband grabbed the phone and demanded that the manager cancel the booking immediately so that we could go stay somewhere else. The man's tone changed and all of a sudden he was able to explain the confusion of the room. A bait and switch method; which turns out that they've been using for a while based on the reviews we read about the place afterwards. We demanded to speak to the manager. The manager "Yoga" lives in Bali. He proceeded to explain the same BS scam about the rooms and told us we could pay more than bookings.com confirmed, to stay in the sea view room (which we were previously told were all booked up). At this point we had no choice because it was getting late in a small fishing villae w no street lights or readily available taxis (the hotel is not in the center of the mains strip). In addition:Room smells of mold and mildew. Bathroom has no door so you are subjected to the sounds and smells of your partner's defections while sitting in the room. Glass door entry that not only allows any sticky-fingered thief to see all your belongings but you can be seen taking a shower from outside the room since theres no door To top it off, there was a large RAT in the garden right outside our door. So large that it could have been mistaken for a NYC subway rat! And it didn't fear people.

Feel Like Home
Basic room, cleanish. Comunication in English is difficult wenn one of the ladies running the place is absent. If she's there, very helpfull service, arranged Landry, flight to Sumba and transport to airport early in the morning. Breakfeast ok for the price, free water/tea/coffee nice. Located out of the way in a residential area, so if they run out of scooters to rent, you face long walks to anything, even dinner. "Taxi" from the bus stop didn't know the way (but didn't tell), running in circles until I showed him location on the phone. Good value for money, would return (but try to secure a scooter beforhand).

This homestay / hotel is located right at the sea shore just outside Maumere town. We had to construct a seawall due to beach erosion. However most of the year the sea is quite and good for a swim - there is also some coral reef, although for very good snorkeling you'll have to visit the islands nearby. The host, Ibu Susi, definitely helps you how to visit some interesting places and if you like join a meeting or other activity on waste management with students, communities, or government officials. It's just a good place to stay. It is very near the airport so before early flights, you still enjoy our nice breakfast. We can organise your checking in (on request) so you can wait till you see the plane actually landing, than go. The place is a bit near the main road to Larantuka, so at day-time there is a bit of traffic noise. Night time is calm though.
A great place to stay right on the water with large comfy rooms. Suzy is amazing, welcoming, friendly, a great source of information and an inspiration. She has initiated projects such a; cleaning the beach and town of plastic and working with special people in the community to turn this rubbish into useful and beautiful objects. A fun place to stay and a great community to support.

Pak Johannes runs a lovely, clean guesthouse in Bajawa. It is centrally located and very comfortable for the price. But the best part is Pak Yohannes himself, he is a kind man who is genuinely interested in helping you have a good time. He can give excellent advice or help you find a good guide to explore the surrounding area and his banana pancakes are one of the best breakfasts you will find anywhere in Flores. Go ahead and do yourself a favor and book the slightly nicer rooms with the private bathroom & hot water shower it's well worth the extra couple of dollars. I had booked the cheaper room not really understanding the difference and when I showed up with my wife and 2 year old he took a quick look at us and upgraded us to the nicer room for free since we were the only guests that night (December 2020 during the Pandemic) and he felt it would be better for my family. In fact he said he actually opened the guesthouse just for us that day since there were no other guests. That's the kind of excellent man he is. Do yourself a favor a book a room at the cinnamon guesthouse if you are looking for a cheap place to stay in Bajawa. Kindness and hospitality are priceless and they make the entire experience better.
