Belgium's fourth-largest - and most beautiful - city is home to a quarter of a million people and a flourishing flower export trade. An important port, Ghent's city center is a pedestrian area that is like a museum to early Flemish architecture and a testament to the city's medieval might. Impressive Gothic sites, such as dramatic St. Bavo's Cathedral and the Castle of the Counts, inspire awe. The works of Flemish masters are housed in the distinguished Museum voor Schone Kunst.

Handy because it is part of a concert hall (although you don't have to attend a concert to eat there); casual atmosphere with very good menu and wine list. Simple, but great!
We had dinner in this nice place and I was pleasantly surprised. Finally a 'brasserie' that still offers home made quality food. I ordered a salad with scallups and it tasted really good: fresh and varied veggies and a nice dressing. The french fries and mayonaise were home made, as it should be. The waiter was very friendly and helpful, also as it should be. It is not the cheapest place to have dinner, but at least the quality is good. I would come back here.

Via an atmospheric alleyway between the towers of Ghent, you enter the distinctive Brasserie Pakhuis. You will immediately be overwhelmed by the enormous space, which exudes the atmosphere of the former warehouse. Portuguese architect Pinto has given the
We ate at Pakhuis in a lovely renovated commercial building near the St. Michaelâs Bridge in the center of Ghent, after touring all morning. It was recommended by our guide. The restaurant is off a little alley, and has a striking 2 level interior. We ordered the special of the day, with included lightly fried mussels over a salad that was delicious. This was followed by a plate of meatballs, in a lovely sauce. The accompanying bread was very good. Service was efficient and friendly. Lunch came to approximately â¬20 a person, with bottled water. Definitely would recommend, both Ghent and Pakhuis.

A lady from the tourist office recommended this place. My friends and I enjoyed our dinner there. We had the beef stew which was delicious. The atmosphere was nice, our waiter very friendly, translated menu in English. It looked like mostly local people were there. Restaurant was about 10 min from city center.

Limited choice of mainly local dishes. Food is of good quality, basic taste and average house wines. One waiter, takes long to get your food. Nice setting but misses warmth and creativity on the taste. Prices are quite high, in our opinion you find better food in Ghent for that price. Location is in a quite area in Ghent.

We wish you a warm welcome...
This restaurant is in a nice location in the Patershol area of Ghent. It is a charming historic building. On the evening we visited the front of house was run entirely by one very pleasant lady. The menu is on a chalkboard that is brought to the table and then read to you. My partner and I both found this difficult as we had different memories of what was on the menu.We ended up having the four course menu which was really too much food for us. The food was all excellent in particular the main pheasant course was delightful.

We had heard brilliant things about this Restaurant before travelling to Belgium. We were not disappointed! We received a warm welcome from Sandy and her helpers and were given in depth explanation of the Menu which was written in Flemish & German. We were happy to choose from the special menu for the day and thoroughly enjoyed an excellent meal in these wonderful surroundings. There was some difficulty in arranging the reservation and so had to change our planning slightly to suit the Restaurant. We were happy to do so and very pleased with our evening there. It is well worth the extra effort to get a meal at this lovely place!
