We hit upon this restaurant by chance when looking for the zoo - and the chance proved very lucky! Our waitress was very friendly and nice and really took care of us even when there was a slight delay due to a wedding, there's ample space for kids to amuse themselves without a) bothering other guests or b) stressing the hell out of their parents (there's an aquarium, tiny duck pond and countless and harmless interesting corners to explore) - and the food! Lovely balance of spices, fresh, things that you've resigned will taste lame in a restaurant (garlic and potato pancakes for instance) were just brilliant... and though their design is strictly rural/meideval (and very charming), they stopped at the loos which are very modern and sparkly clean :-) We really enjoyed ourselves and recommend!

This nice restaurant is situated in calm surrounding in the very pleasant "garden" full of trees and flowers. Outdoor Seating is very nice. The meals used to be very good and with an idea. After my last visit I was little bit schocked that there was only few meals in the menu but also all the dishes were quite plain - no surprise - just average.... I hope it will be better soon and I will come back...

We were in the zoo in the city and stop for a lunch in the main place where we found this restaurant.
The location is good and there are not so many alternative opportunity in the city so we tried it. There were an English menu and the waiter spoke a bit English so it was a good start. The variety of choices is far to much. The service was nice and quite quick. Only garlic soup was available but in three different alternatives, it was not so good generally the soup is not our favorite in Czech Rep. I selected a steak after which was perfect, I really recommend it. The price level was quite low, really a value for money.

I came with friends to see the beautifully renovated herb Gardens at the outrageously over-the-top baroque historic convent and church. The late afternoon sky added tremendous drama to a scene already dripping with emotion. We had dinner and spent the night in the Baroque restaurant and guesthouse and were very pleased with the quality overall. Traditional Czech dishes were presented with modern style and in giant quantities. I had excellent noodles with mushrooms and rabbit. Others had stacks of duck confit with huge dumplings. There were pots of meat served in jars of duck fat. It was all delicious.
If the studio apartment we stayed in were in Manhattan it would rent for $5000 a month but here it was reasonably priced and so clean that I doubt anyone had stayed there before.
We had Czech speakers among us but if we hadn't, we might have had difficulty communicating as all signs and menus are in Czech.

Jsou restaurace, které však působí jako hospody. A, příjemnější varianta, jsou hospody, kde se cítíte jako v restauraci. To jsme si potvrdili v sobotu odpoledne, po celodenní dřině na zahradě u naší chalupy, když jsme se rozhodli odměnit se návštěvou Na Kopečku. Vstup nahřátý ohněm v krbovkách hned proti dveřím. Obsazené dva či tři stoly - to se spravilo, dorazilo dalších pár skupin, takže kolem 16 hod. byla kapacita zaplněna cca z poloviny. Obsluha hbitá, mile familiární (jak se přece na hospodu sluší). Jídlo opět nezklamalo - na menu bylo kyselo (neměl jsem ho roky, toto se fakt povedlo, krémové, příjemně nakyslé, zahuštěné míchanými vajíčky). Máti si dala kuřecí řízek přes půl talíře a bramborami, my volili čerstvě upečená žebírka - krásně šťavnatá, měkká, z kostí maso jen odpadalo. Dva dipy - jogurtový trošku mdlý, druhý pikantní, velmi dobrý. K dokonalosti chyběl jen kousek syrové zeleniny na dekoraci. K pití jsme dali místní Jungberg (zásadně podporují lokální producenty, pivo je navrch dobré) a džbánek citronády pro řidiče. No a zakončení obstaraly švestky marinované v karamelu s karamelovou zmrzlinou, skvělé, a vídeňská káva - rovněž bez chyby. Čili hodnocení opět za jedna a hvězdičku dodávám, neb milý pan číšník mi obstaral i nabíječku na telefon.

Friendly staff, a nice varied menu and surprisingly they did have an English copy which made it much easier to choose what to order! We had a chicken schnitzel and a pork in red wine sauce, which both had nice salads and chips/pasta with them. Really quick service, and a fun place with some quirky decoration and a mix of rock/country soundtrack. Look out for a large, smirking wooden jester in the garden!

We' ve used this restaurant for dinner as well as part of the breakfast in stay in bungalows. Well decorated in African style and with children corner. Food from menu was very good, big porcions and good raw materials. Breakfast were weaker but OK. Unfortunately service decrease quality of restaurant. Slow, long waiting for the food, confusing. They have at the same time some team building and take more attention to them at the expense of common clients... Second part which function as a canteen type and self service goes quite good and the food is corresponding to prices.

We visited Kuks (ancient Baroque hospital). There were several restaurants in Kuks, but they all looked like tourists traps (i.e. expensive, so-so meal and service). 15min drive from Kuks is this restaurant Ve Dvore in Dvur Kralove nad Labem located.
