We booked this restaurant to celebrate a birthday with Muslim guests which required us to choose a Halaal establishment for the meal. The restaurant is tucked away on Ridge Road (now known as Peter Mokaba Ridge) and has plenty of off street parking. Luckily we booked - there was a cue of people waiting for tables when we left. With regard accessibility - the wooden stairs leading to the restaurant entrance would prohibit access to anyone with mobility impairment. We didn't try the starters. For mains the menu offers a variety of options - not just curries, as I expected, but standard grill house fare like lamb shanks / chicken / fish / prawns and a few mixed grill options. I had the half chicken with mild chilli sauce which was delicious. Others at the table had the lamb shank (which was not really fall off the bone, served with the smallest serving of mashed potato and the gravy was starch based), and the prawns (great choice). The downfall, in my opinion, was the vegetable sides - the stir fry veg option needs more ingredients - not just green and red peppers. The other veg option is butternut and creamed spinach.

Trainee chef Kyle was on duty at lunchtime, a very pleasant young man but he should have been supervised. Asked if there was fresh line fish he disappeared for a few minutes & returned with the answer only one portion but he failed to find out what fish it was. Two of us ordered duck which was too small a portion & way too dry & the 3rd member of our party had the dishwasher steak which was overcooked. At 13.30 the manager, clearly dressed for the beach & a tad rude, indicated we needed to order deserts as the kitchen was closing. Needless to say we didn't bother & moved to another venue to finish our wine. No wonder there wasn't another patron in the restaurant!I am truly sorry that your dining experience was not up to standard. I have dealt with the parties concerned, and apologise for us seriously dropping the ball. Unfortunately Kyle is indeed a trainee, and I have not showed him this review for his own sake as he would be really gutted and it would profit him little to stress about his role in this - other than to say, as a chef trainee he should have been aware of the fish of the day. Correctly said, I believe the rest was a failure of supervision. I believe you were given a bottle of wine in compensation for the comedy of errors on our part, and I hope in part that gesture was accepted in good faith for our blunder. We certainly hope to see your return under more favourable circumstances. Once again, apologies for dropping the ball. kind regards, Chef Shaun.

Went to PARC. as advertised on trip advisor as Gluten free options. Beautiful menu BUT NO GLUTEN FREE OTIONS. You can eat salads but if u want a wrap or open sarmie you out of luck. I opted for the sugarbean curry and poached eggs and it was stunning. Worth a visit even if not advertised correctly Dear 335leannecIf you could point out exactly where on Tripadvisor you spotted the gluten free information we can address it? Parc has never offered/stocked gluten free bread and we manage our own advertising. Please respond here or email us on [email protected]. We are delighted that you enjoyed your meal and we hope you will visit again soon!Warm regardsThe PARC Team

About to go off trekking so a throughly slap up meal was required and we found it here.First surprise was the in-depth description of the menu given by Erin, our waiter, he really knew his stuff.Second surprise was just how good the food was, best we have had outside Capetown. If I am being picky I would probably have less intensely flavoured accompaniments with the very fine cob fillet but that is a question of personal taste.Ambitious, imaginative cooking in a laid back atmosphere.
