I have written a review before about Walkerson and every time we visit they do not disappoint. Service is always exceptional, food excellent, staff that go the extra mile. We visited today for lunch and spa for our 8th Wedding Anniversary. This year was a little different as we now have a 7 month old baby to consider as well. Walkerson was the perfect venue for this Anniversary lunch and Spa spoils for mom. I just want to give a special shout out to Nelly who took our baby and kept him happy for 10min so that mom and dad could enjoy their anniversary meal together. We so appreciate it and like I said exceptional staff that always go the extra mile. Thanks again. We will definitely be back soon with a smile on our face as always when we visit Walkerson.

The Highlander was named after the Scottish Highlands, which the area around the hotel resembles. The hotel, which was formerly known as the Peebles Country Lodge, was voted the ‘Most Romantic Hotel‘ during the International Luxury Hotel of the year awards. The retreat has become popular as a stopover accommodation option for visitors traveling to and from the Kruger National Park. This welcoming country retreat in Mpumalanga caters to both the corporate and leisure guest. To keep with the romantic setting of the hotel, the rooms feature combustion fireplaces and a full range of amenities. The bar at the hotel is every whisky lover’s dream, offering over 200 single malt whiskys to choose from. The hotel is closely located to all the main shopping areas and guests can easily walk from the hotel to the shops and spend a day browsing. The hotel features a bar, a restaurant, and a spa.
Cosy get away in the clean montain air. Great food and personal service. Could not wish for more. The holiday atmosphere in Dullstroom is calming. The moment one enters the small town your senses are tuned into relax mode.

Dunkeld Country Estate is a beautiful trout-and-game resort situated on over 1000 hectares only 3.7Kms from the popular village of Dullstroom. The area, renowned for its sub-alpine climate, high altitude and fly fishing waters, is favoured by city dwellers wanting to relax in the country and enjoy fresh air and panoramic views only 2.5 Hours from Johannesburg. The Resort consists of a central Lodge which offers 13 spacious Hotel rooms dotted around a fishing dam and near the main restaurant/ reception area. Our self-catering accommodation consists of 4 private self contained family suites and an additional 20 self-contained one bedroom chalets. Most of our rooms have an open fireplace to keep warm on those cold, and most popular, misty days. The heritage of the estate has been preserved with the conversion of the old farmhouse into a restaurant, which is more than a hundred years old. Our new reception, lounge and jazz bar was opened in August 2014 and compliments our banqueting facilities which cater to weddings, functions and conferences. We have a stone chapel, tea garden and can cater to your every need. Dunkeld is well known for its forest weddings. The resort boasts many well-stocked dams filled with Brown, Rainbow and Golden Trout, offering fly-fishing enthusiasts from novice to experienced the enjoyment of quality angling time in pursuit of that perfect catch. We are also passionate about introducing children to the art of fly fishing and one of our on-site guides holds a demo and teaching session every weekend. The estate also offers a host of family and child orientated activities. Our horse out rides are very popular as is our kiddies activity program. We are introducing new and fun activities every week. The Estate is located on the famous Panorama Route which takes visitors from Dullstroom all the way through remarkable landscapes to the Blyde River Canyon, Echo Caves and Pilgrims Rest. Dunkeld is also the perfect rest stop on the way to the Kruger National Park and the private reserves located in the Timbavati and Sabi Sands Reserves.
After reading some negative reviews I was prepared to encounter some issues. Instead, we had a beautiful room, everything was clean and worked well, food was excellent and portions were very large, and the staff was friendly and helpful. Our fireplace and freestanding bathtub were nice, romantic touches. The setting is absolutely stunning, enhanced by the colours of the season. We weren't in the equestrian area, which may account for the differences, so I'd recommend staying where we did until the reviews of the equestrian area improve.

A cosy, self-catering country getaway in the heart of Dullstroom featuring 4 rustic stone cottages decorated with a touch of luxury. We are situated in a quiet area which is a 5 minute walk from the center of town and accessible by tarred roads. The property has lovely gardens, with tall blue gum trees and the surrounding hills can be viewed from the fire-pit/boma area. Each unit features a patio with BBQ and seating, indoor fireplace (stocked with complimentary wood and firelighter), kitchenette, TV, top quality linens, electric blankets, robes and toiletries. The self contained 2 bedroom Klip-cottage has a large well-equipped kitchen (including coffee percolator, oven, washing machine and dryer) lounge, dining area, bath tub and full length patio with built-in undercover BBQ. Although Kliphuisjes has no reception area, owners reside close by and will welcome guests on arrival with keys. Please note this establishment is self-catering and no breakfast provided. Pet friendly on request
This was a family trip with my sister and her dogs, very pet friendly and comfy stay, everything needed was provided. Beautiful setting and scenic views with fun activities in and around Dullstroom. Kliphuisjes was very accommodating and lovely little fireplace that was very useful in the cold. Will definitely recommend.

We just had a fabulous 1 night stay in "The Loft". The house is lovely house and set in beautiful grounds. The room was really nicely appointed with lots of extra touches such as hot chocolate, a Nespresso machine, and a decanter of sherry. The bed was really comfortable and the towels thick and fluffy. Definitely a cut above most B&Bs and it was also very good value.

Forest Creek nestles in a gorge of the Steenkampsburg Mountains, which is the end of the Drakensberg Mountain range. Set in a Private Nature reserve of the Mpumalanga escarpment. The gorge is softened only by a blanket of shrubs and trees which have grown in this malaria-free zone over millennia. It is only when one gets to the gate of Forest Creek Lodge that the rock-strewn grassland is left behind, one climbs up, and up, and enter this little enchanted world. This winter come and enjoy some good food and wine snuggled in front of our log Fireplaces, and go home feeling indulged On this magnificent piece of land we hope we have catered for everyone, from Luxury guest suites at the main lodge* to the Forest Cottage, Bee Eater, The Beach Cottage & Sunbird self catering options. During the cooler months, come and enjoy the Big Fireplace in the Lodge Lounge. There are hiking trails along the stream under the canopy of trees. Treat yourself to an hour or two of relaxation in our Forest Spa
What a lovely, beautiful, peaceful place! The staff is friendly and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious! The rooms are spacious and clean. The fireplace was wonderful! Loved the hike in the Cloud Forest. It would be nice if couple's massages could be done at the spa

Sleep At 84 is in a great location. It's within walking distance from everything we wanted to see and the parking is safe. Check-in was online and efficient. The room was big and came with everything we needed beside tea, coffee and sugar. There were containers for them but they were empty. There's also no phone for housekeeping so you had to WhatsApp them if you needed something. All in all, we had a pleasant stay and I would definitely re-book if in Dullstroom again.
