Its a central located spacious restaurant, very clean with professional, polite and very swift staff. The location is made for both, huge groups, i.e. family, touristic, business, and also couples that will feel comfortable. There is, besides all excellently prepared Kurdish/Iraqi dishes, within a few minutes a terrific 'Masgouf' available; this grilled fish is considered as the national dish of Iraq and origins from regions near the Tigris-Euphrates Basin.

I ordered a chicken and got a plate with chicken and rice and 10 plates of sidedishes plus bread of course followed with tee. All for the price of 8.000 IQD which is about 6-7 $. The food was at my table allmost emediatly, it litterally took under a minute from ordering till everything was there. They also deliver food.The only problem I have is that its way to much for one person.

Geverke is a good choice for dinner. Its location is good, and the staff is friendly. The food is clean, and its taste is average. There is nothing so special in this restaurant. But I think sitting in the garden is a great idea in summer. There is free WiFi but weak.

We had a delicious Middle Eastern meal at the Wooden House, which is a spacious restaurant attached to a modern shopping mall in Duhok. The food was excellent and the prices were average for the region. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, offering to even translate the bill into English, as well as fetching us a taxi. The home made ayran drink was memorable and tasty. There was also a large outside seating area with a landscaped garden. A really pleasant evening.

There is a lot about this restaurant that attracts customers. They have an inside and outside eating area, a place for kids to play, good parking space, nice and respectful staff, and most importantly numerous dishes with a variety of tastes. Appetizers, side dishes, and desserts are included with every meal, and freshly baked bread is immediately given to you with your soup and the main dish. One downside though, is that the place is pretty much hidden and cannot be easily located for non-locals. But seriously, take the time to find it! You'll forget all that trouble of searching when you'll be sipping some tea in their beautiful gardens afterwards.
