Drogheda (/ˈdrɒhədə/; /ˈdrɔːdə/; Irish: Droichead Átha, meaning "bridge of the ford") is one of the oldest towns in Ireland. It is known for its tourism and as a centre of industry and medical care. It is located in County Louth on the Dublin-Belfast corridor on the east coast of Ireland, 49 km or 30 miles north of Dublin, with a population of approximately 41,000 inhabitants (2016). It is the last bridging point on the River Boyne before it enters the Irish Sea. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Newgrange is located 8 km to west of the town.

What's the craic with the rice served with the salmon?
Says on the menu served on a bed of risotto, but to be honest it served on sweet creamy rice, that taste just like Ambrosia Creamed Rice.
Fish was beautiful but the rice ruined it.
I'd suggest they swap the rice for some creamy mash & veg instead.
Everything else was perfect, and as always: nicest staff in town!

We ate here 3 times in one week. we were never disappointed. Great selection on menu. Staff are very friendly and have great knowledge of menu ingredients. My youngest son was celebrating his birthday and they made it extra special for us.

My mum and I came over on holiday to visit my sister and came here one evening after it had been recommended to my sister.
I must say, I was a bit baffled at first - the set up of the restaurant is very odd, and although charming it is a little tired which makes you wonder what you are in for.
It had a slightly fawlty towers feels to it!!
Well was I wrong - the food that followed was absolutely beautiful!
We had three courses and each was divine, I must say it was the best steak I've ever had and the garlic potatoes were to die for.
The service was excellent, attentive but non intrusive and the price was so very reasonable.
I would definitely return, don't let the look of the place put you off!
Thank you chefs and to our wonderful waitresses on the night.

Stopped after Newgrange on our way to Dublin. While the town didn't look too exciting, this place seemed like a hidden gem. Menu items were slightly kicked up versions from routine. It was a little walk from the car park, I don't think there is any parking closer.

Met friends here for Lunch recently. Welcome was so warm and genuine. Waitress was knowledgeable about food and also very pleasant. Wine menu a bit limited but food more than made up for that little disappointment. Very well presented and tasty with good sized portions for a very reasonable price. The place was buzzing with lots of people enjoying the good food and warm atmosphere. Found the desserts a bit limited but to be fair we were there a good 2 hours eating and chatting before it occurred to us to order dessert so perhaps we had missed the boat slightly.

Saturday night and the place was buzzing with a lively atmosphere enhanced by a friendly, welcoming, efficient service from all the staff.
I can't speak for my friend, but whilst I was very much impressed by the venue and the effortless professionalism of the staff, I was pretty disappointed with the food. I had the Chili Tiger Prawns to start, and they were served in a baking hot dish that had rendered them severely over-cooked and rather tasteless. Not ideal for an £8.50 starter.
I had the £24.95 Rib-eye Steak for my main; and whilst it was certainly a generous 10oz in size, the meat itself was a little sinewy and flavourless without the sauce provided as a side. The chips were strangely anaemic and the sauteed mushrooms appeared to have come out of a tin. Surely it can't be too much trouble to buy & prepare fresh mushrooms in a restaurant that presents itself as a quality venue?
I was wishing I'd ordered what my friend had (Rack of Lamb), as he said that it was excellent. He'd had the Calamari to start, and said that it was fresh rather than frozen, and that the batter was well made.
I was hoping to write a rave review on "a hidden gem", as we'd decided to visit Drogheda rather than make a trek into Dublin. Even more so given the previously mentioned excellent service we received from everyone at the front of house.

Myself & my Mam are locals from the Restaurant, we decided we would have a nice dinner here together only to be extremely disappointed. Totally new menu & half of the popular old dishes aren’t on the new menu...for example no garlic mushrooms, no wedges, no rib eye steak which is what I was going to order specifically. My mother is vegetarian & the selection of vegetarian dishes are not the best. Stir fry & salad.... not very creative in my opinion. They had wonderful vegetarian dishes on before they decided to change the menu. I looked up the menu online that day to make sure the rib eye steak was still on the menu which on the website it was to find when I arrive that it’s gone. Still isn’t updated. Update the website if you’re going to change the menu. We left & went to a different restaurant and had a wonderful meal. Such a let down and definitely will not be returning.

The Kitchen Restaurant is run by a couple with a passion for food & travel. Opened in 2011 The Kitchen Restaurant serves fresh, clean food inspired by the couples travels in Europe, North Africa & the Middle East. Classically trained chef/patron Glyn Schneider creates delicious dishes from locally sourced ingredients. The menus are seasonal with a changing wine list. Front of house is run by Anne Brennan with a friendly team. There is a private dining room for small groups.
Went here for an evening meal. The surroundings are comfortable warm and inviting. Service was excellent and the food served was good. The menu is limited however . If you find something that appeals then you will get it served well and it will be good. Very good but check the menu! !

If you're looking for a really good fillet steak, surf & turf or Sunday dinner then this is the place for you. It rarely disappoints. The surf & turf is a particular favourite - with a side of garlic fried potatoes it is divine. We decided to get a quick Sandwich and coffee here at lunchtime, but they just could not deliver. There were absolutely no vegetarian sandwiches whatsoever, immediately losing over 10% of their target market, so that was rather absurd to start. In fact, it appears that they don't actually make any sandwiches locally, all of them being brought in from from offsite factory. Any way, I ordered the Tex-Mex wrap: I was asked if I wanted it heated but, because I was in a bit of a rush, I declined. The coffee (which was good) arrived, as did my vegetarian's forced-to-have-a-scone-instead, but 10 minutes later I managed to catch the waitress's attention and asked about my wrap - the delay was because they were heating it. Duh! I eventually got my wrap, but the creator of this speciality has never been in either Texas or Mexico, but seemed to like dousing the filling with a sweet sickly barbecue sauce - it was truly dreadful.
Now, I want to emphasise that the staff there were excellent, despite the mixup about heating the wrap, and the coffee is pretty good, and the location itself is really nice. But it's a cafe, and the food is truly a nightmare.
