De Huiskamer ("the lounge room") has been there for over 30 years albeit with another name. The new owners have made it into a welcoming place with a cosy indoor area and outdoor dining - weather permitting. The food is very good, the prices reaonable and the service professional and friendly. what more can you want?

We had a good diner in this restaurant. The quality of the food was above average, but not overwhelming. That makes the average rating.

The restaurant is located in an old school building and its decorations include an old Dutch reading "plank". There were four in our party, three Dutch people and a Lancashire lass. The service was excellent, knowledgeable about food and wine, friendly and non intrusive. The food was very well presented, a feast for the eye. The starters, a vegetarian dish and pastrami dishes for the others, were brilliant, fresh and very tasty. The "amuse bouche" cucumber gazpacho and a small piece of tomato "cake". Main course included veal sweetbreads on a risotto, delicate chicken with superb jus (gravy to us Northeners) accompanied by wonderful vegetable combinations and a red gurnard dish. Desert were excellent too, with wonderful ice creams, fruit (a superb blackberry coulis), not over sweet. We had a bottle of Cava and a bottle of German red wine. The table is yours for the evening. The high table is not the most comfortable, but was one of the last ones left and it was worth it for the food. In our eyes the bill at around £40 a head was very much worth it. Highly recommended!

I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. But especially the starters and the desserts were amazing great.Dear Wijtze,Thank you for your kind review! In the future, please let us know when you expected a bit more on your plate. We hate to waste food but are always willing to prepare a bit more on request! :)Kind regards, Bianca

We visited here twice, near the start and end of a week's cycling trip round the Drenthe region. It's in a great spot close to two of the largest hunebeden, set back a bit from a main road and a major cycle path, with a large and attractive terrace facing the sun. Coffee and apfelgebak were both excellent on the outgoing trip, though we did cast envious eyes at the table next to us where two smartly-dressed ladies tucked into enormous plates of scones with jam and slagroom (whipped cream) and took lots of photos to show their friends.... On the return trip we stopped in for open sandwiches, which turned out to consist of enormous platefuls of open baguette,?cheese ham and sliced egg, topped with heaps of delicious and colourful salad. After a fruit juice each and a cappuccino too our progress after lunch was distinctly slower for a while. Service was excellent and the place was clearly popular and busy both times. Strongly recommended.

We enjoyed our lunch with a group of 10 in the restaurant part of 't Knooppunt. Service was fairly quick and the food was prepared under our eyes in the open kitchen. Coffee and tea as well as the lunch dishes were of good quality and also good value for money. The airy restaurant room was attractively decorated and properly heated as well. The only remark could be that we were not asked if we wanted drinks with the lunch dishes. They also have a cozy cafe section (which we passed through) and a number of fairly large rooms for bigger events behind the main building. Plenty parking both in front and behind the main building available.
