We visited this restaurant with friends who live in Meppel. It is incredibly good value and we had three courses for 14.50 euros. Very good for the price and atmosphere and service excellent.

Very pleasant dinner of asparagus and good vegetables, although some items were rather cold. Apple tart was provided off-menu for dessert. Quite generous overall. They need to pay a bit more attention to details, for instance several plates suffered dish-washer chips. Prices were okayDecent ambience. Seating is available indoor, outdoor and in covered areas. Waiting staff were all lovely

We enjoyed this restaurant with a group of friends and all had a different menu. All very good. It's a small place, very cosey and a lot of locals visiting. Excellent value for money. No winelist, just one merlot for red wine.

We went here for lunch after a local recommendation. It's a great cafe and the food and service were excellent. I had a great chicken salad and my friend had goats cheese salad. Very happy with our choices.

Used to visit this place often when we still lived nearby but in recent years we have been there twice for lunch. Can't find any fault: nice location, friendly and efficient service and great food.The Havixhorst is an old stately home converted into a boutique hotel and restaurant. It is located near a stork sanctuary and hosts some stork families on the chimney tops. Its garden hosts sculpture collections from artists all over the Netherlands.After visiting the sculpture garden we settled in the courtyard and enjoyed an excellent lunch. Highly recommended.

Just got back to the UK after a wonderful 5 day stay with friends in Mappel. We visited this lovely restaurant last night and it was warm, friendly and welcoming. If you enjoy eating meat this is the place to visit. The menu has a great choice and the smell of the meat cooking, alone was mouth watering.

What can I say about this good brown cafe/restaurant in centre of Meppel: friendly service, food was quickly on the table (salad with salmon and sandwitch with warm ham and honey sauce), even the latte machiatto was served (as it should be) with three layers. Only the menu-book is a bit weird with all the ads in it. Recommended place!

I had a Sunday Roast on - really - a Sunday evening and the food was great, although the roast itself was a rather small portion of meat,m greens and potaties. The food and service was very good, the waitresses are very friendly and cordial, delicious food, is the first time I taste one pancook in presentation of crepe and it was simply delicious, the super recommend a combination of vegetables and very nice meat, and obviously lunch with a spectacular view of the Village.
