Reviews on Fast Food food in El Jadida, Doukkala-Abda Region, Morocco. El Jadida (Berber: Mazaɣan, ⵎⴰⵣⴰⵗⴰⵏ, Arabic: الجديدة or مازاغان, Portuguese: Mazagão) is a port city on the Atlantic coast of Morocco, located 106 km south of the city of Casablanca in the region of Doukkala-Abda and the province of El Jadida. In my wanderings in and about the city El Jadida, Morocco, I have had dinner several times at this fast food restaurant. It is normally crowded, so much so that on occasion I have passed it by. The crowd is a mixture of locals and visitors to the city; families and singles. The menu has plenty of choices, although only a few Moroccan dishes. On my most recent visit had the chawarma plate. This is a chicken dish cooked like greek gyro. Chawarma is a common dish around town. The chicken is sliced from the vertically rotating stack of thin chicken. It has spices between the layers of chicken. You can order it as a sandwich or a plate. The serving size of thinly sliced chicken was quite generous. The plate also contained a large serving of thin crispy frites (french fries); a fair sized lettuce, tomato, and onion salad; also on the plate was a small portion of cold pasta; and to me the most confusing dish, cold white steamed rice topped with fruit flavored yogurt. In past visits I had pizza and a very nice juicy hamburger. On that visit several ladies from Japan asked me about my hamburger, which I approved of. They were happy and pleased when they each ordered one.The prices were very reasonable. The staff was friendly and helpful. I take a seat close to the front so I can watch the people go by outside, watch the food being prepared, and see what else people are ordering.Like many places in El Jadida credit cards are not accepted. You can order food to go.

I'm giving it a 4 as it has maintained itself well - it's been here for over 12 years - and has worked to improve its offer. It's not really different from a snack menu, except that there are posh cakes and some milk products to be had here as well. It's actually looks like a café and the coffee is good as is the view just over from the Mohammed V garden and the sea. On two floors, the inside is bright and modern and the food is fine. It's especially nice in the season as it's on the main drag, thus is a good place for people watching and seeing the world go by while having elevenses or an evening hot chocolate.
My Moroccan mate and I always pop in here for a coffee and a panaché when we go to the supermarket. We've eaten here as well. It's just fast food, but it's pretty good.Even in winter, it's nice to eat on their seats on the balcony. The cakes are tasty too!

The title says it all. You'd expect places with pretensions to serve above-average food. Unfortunately, it's bog-standard snack-type food that can be obtained in many other places more cheaply and just as well cooked. My meal of chicken brochettes was fine. The accompaniments were OK too, but there was nothing special that stood out to justify the price. The location, on a busy main road and by a large junction doesn't help the ambience either. I'd eat there again only if I were in the area, but I'd prefer the snacks in town that are 30% cheaper and just as good if not better.

I went here on the first day of opening with a Moroccan friend. It's taken a couple of weeks for the establishment to get listed. It's new, so it's looking good. Additionally, it has been built and furnished in what I assume is a new style which, although it has to be standardised worldwide, doesn't look as terrible as the previous incarnations. The food was, well, McDonald's! The same stuff that you'd find anywhere in the world, some of it adapted somewhat to local tastes. The reason I am giving the place a four is the view. They have certainly chosen a spectacular position on the extended beach looking out over the bay and the waves. The restaurant has been built on an elevated position to allow good views from the terrace. The whole area is slated to become a holiday village with shops, restaurants, chalets and hotels which probably explains why they built here rather than in town. However, I cannot imagine that the residents of the exceedingly expensive gated community next door are happy with their new neighbours. There are children's facilities and although it is not yet open, there will be a drive through.I've been there once and I doubt I shall return unless I am nagged and nagged at by my far more enthusiastic friend. That's just me though. I hadn't been to a McD for years before this visit!
It looks like I'm on a bit of a mission today to write reviews. This is the second one!I forgot my toothbrush and toothpaste on a recent business trip so I came to the Carrefour supermarket complex to get them and a couple of other things.I popped up to the food court and saw that this place had a large queue of young Moroccans buying food. They were right. I had chicken breastburger and chips with a salad and drink to eat on the seats opposite the counter. It was good, for fast food. I must say that it was better than KFC.I imagine there's no point to make a detour to come here, but if visiting the Carrefour supermarket, it's worth a look.

OK, it's snack restaurant. But in the scale of things, it's a good one. I really don't know why I'd never tried it before. A couple of friends suggested it, having been before, so we went there tonight. It's quite bright and modern and does some stuff that a lot of the other snacks don't do like fancy (and seemingly good quality) cakes as well as some very good milk shakes, fruit salads in "raib" and other yoghurt concoctions. I spotted baking ovens in the back of the premises, so it looks as if these are made in house, as are the bstilla and other pies and pastries.I had shawarma which consisted of a large plate of meat, salad, rice, chips and pitta bread. I ate the lot and it was rather tasty! One of my friends had a pizza, which he said was good and the other had tagliatelli which he completely polished off. So, this is one to add to the list when I want a quick bit of fast food after a hard day's work.

I don't think this place needs my help to be (more) successful. I wrote my last review some months ago and have been back once a week or so with friends normally. It's been consistently good.I'd like to address concerns that it's "like other snacks". It is not. Most of the local snacks do a pretty basic menu which is similar to all of them. Here there are additions to the mix, escalope of turkey, marinated chicken, lasagne, pasta dishes and so on. The place has been recently renovated to cater for more people. It's a snack - and a popular one - so of course they pack people in. But if you feel crowded, you can always go upstairs. The portions are still as huge as ever. I can't even attempt to eat any of the bread that accompanies the meal as I'd be too blown out. It's amazing that they can offer all this for the price. And it's just not for people of limited means. People with posh cars turn up for takeaways having phoned through their orders beforehand.I have no hesitation recommending it again.

Well, I went here with a couple of friends 2 nights ago. I had chicken kebabs as did one of my friends and the other had a the spaghetti dish with a white sauce and salmon.Again, the portions were ginormous! 6 skewers of generously proportioned pieces of chicken, chips and a nice Moroccan side salad (tomatoes, onions and olives). And perfectly cooked to boot. The place was virtually full again - inside there were no seats. We ate on the patio as smoking is forbidden inside. This has recently been renewed with a permanent roof structure and plastic made-to-measure blinds around the outside as protection from the weather in winter and will provide shade against the sun in summer. In fact, that night was mild and the blinds had been rolled up. We'll certainly go again.
