Visited Gumbeau's for lunch with colleagues on a breezy spring day. Ordered the shrimp and grits, blackened. The food took a while to come out - the restaurant was very busy. Our waitress made sure we had refills and checked in with us frequently giving us a status update. For the price paid, the portion was rather large. A big bowl of shrimp and grits (I got my shrimp blackened), two pieces of garlic bread and a side of your choice (I had green beans). The blackened shrimp popped in my mouth - definitely a good call for the shrimp. Came with 12 large, savory, pieces. The grits were plentiful, but lacked much flavor. The garlic bread - I took one bite - kind of - as the bottom crust was too hard to chew through. Gumbeaux's would be smart to drop the bread with this dish.

Customers favorites include , Salted Caramel, Cheddar Ranch, Butter Pecan, and Chocolate Drizzled Caramel (Milk and White and Dark )
I absolutely love this place. Not just for my popcorn fix of nearly any flavor I desire but for the folks too. All the ladies are fabulous. Popcorn flavors for the plain Jane butter to the sweet & sour junkie to the crab leg seafoodies and of course the chocolate bar chocoholic.
Yes, I can proudly say I'm addicted!

We are a full service restaurant serving a traditional meat and 2 at lunch that also serves a variety of burgers, sandwiches and salads. More of an upscale diner at night.
To my surprise, the spouse suggested Burke's for lunch. Surprising because we were not especially crazy about the breakfast we had there last year, as it was only just okay for us, and the spouse said that he would not return. But, because they have a nice variety on the menu, we gave it another shot.
Our drink orders were taken right away (Coke's for both of us). We both ordered the Deluxe Cheeseburger with Fries (w/ grilled onions & mushrooms & a fried egg on top).
Our orders were served shortly, and the burgers were "big" :), and there were plenty of fries. The first bite of burger (medium well for me & medium for the spouse) was a mix of heavenly flavors in our mouth: grilled onions & mushrooms and a lovely, gooey cheese & slices of pickle. The egg was cooked exactly as ordered, and the fries were nice & hot: crisp on the outside - tender on the inside. We gave it our best shot to hold the burger in both hands but had to give in to the "knife & fork". The quality of the meat was very nice (almost steak-like). I can't say enough about those burgers!
Bottom Line: You must visit this neighborhood restaurant (at least for the burgers alone!) You will be a happy camper that you did. I rated the overall experience a "4" only because the establishment could use a little more personality/ambience.

The yogurt is sort of pricy but a good selection. The only thing that bugs me about them is that they have to give you the samples. I mean they literally come over with the small sample cups and get the sample for you. Not sure if they had issues in the past but it feels very restrictive. They have never put a limit on the number of samples you can have but really..... Can I just do it myself???

They have a really good variety of fresh bagels and their cream cheese is light and delicious. My favorite bagel is the Asiago with plain cream cheese or the cinnamon sugar with strawberry cream cheese. Unless you really like a lot of cream cheese, I recommend getting it on the side as they really pile it on.

If you visit for lunch like I did, be prepared to be overwhelmed with good food! I ordered the shrimp and grits which came in a huge bowl, ready for consumption. A heaping portion of shrimp, sausage, cheesy grits, green onion and jalapeno rings. Great comfort food in a friendly atmosphere. If dining there, I highly suggest avoiding the first table in - it was VERY cold and drafty the day we visited. Come hungry!

Order your pizza well-done and it's just about perfect. They also have a great Turkey Reuben, and their Asian Chicken Salad is excellent. If you like chili, their Jamaican Chili is very good too. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the service is usually very good. Some of us from work usually go at least once a week and are never disappointed.

Lunch at around $7 was very reasonable. Enjoyed the Panang chicken curry with green bell peppers and rice that soaked up the pleasant curry sauce. Nice bite-size slices of tender chicken pieces. The menu has a pepper symbol next to the hot items for diners who want to kick it up a notch. A bowl of white creamy coconut soup is served with the lunch entree, which I didn't care for. I would have preferred a clear broth or noodle soup. The place is a small, local neighborhood find. I liked that it was not noisy. Service was friendly. Will go again, and would definitely recommend. It's a shame they don't have a website, to be able to view their selections and call for take-out.

Found this spot not too far off I20 while passing through Atlanta on a Sunday morning. The wait was short even though the diner was full and busy. Had a wonderful egg scramble from the specials board and the best blueberry pancake I have ever eaten! The BEC was also one of the best ever. Our waitress was efficient and pleasant and helpful in answering questions. Don't hesitate to stop by this great little diner. You won't leave hungry or unsatisfied.

Family owned and operated since 1987. We offer fresh cut steaks, fresh seafood, great many fresh chicken choices, veal and pastas. Our bar area is very inviting and our two private rooms are utilized for many social and corporate events. We do offer full service catering in metro Atlanta.
I had no idea how difficult it would be to locate a restaurant who could provide a private dinner for 18 people on a Saturday at yes, five p.m. Not only did Sam and Rosco's come thru, they did it with flying colors. They took...MoreThank you Jen, we are happy that you and your guests enjoyed the experience. Please come back and dine with us soon. Rosco
