We stayed here one night. The room was clean but basic. This hotel is more closer to town and therefore more expensive than their sister hotel- Boulaos. However, the service and the rooms are exact the same.

We did not stay at this hotel, but we ate here three times, on the terrace overlooking the water. The manager is wonderful, the staff is great and the food is really good. We are vegetarian and appreciated the salads and the asparagus dish. We pre-ordered the taboule for the final dinner and it was delicious. The only problem was that they added tuna to it, although this was not an ingredient listed on the menu. The also have nice beers and wine, although the beer pricing was a bit high we thought.

À la sortie du village. Accueil sympathique. Service rapide. Le repas est bon. Crudités, poulet frites, salades de fruits. Lieu chaleureux, personnel disponible, les enfants sont les bienvenus. C'est une bonne surprise, le long de la route.

Rayan Hotel is operational in Djibouti since 2009, Located in a calm neighbourhood near to the beach and 1km away from the downtown.
Rayan Hotel is a hidden but don't mistake it for a hidden gem. Yes, if you are on a budget, and if you weren't already, you probably will be (look into shocking costs for this country), you may well end up staying here. The cafe that is attached to the hotel is decent but the fare is somewhat limited. The rooms are spartan-like in their utilitarian simplicity and the bathrooms look like they ran out of funding halfway through completion. The rooms are equipped with refrigerators and the AC offers sweet relief from the incapacitating summer heat. The wifi is a bit capricious and the staff are friendly, albeit not overly eager to go above and beyond checking you in. If you have many questions you better brush up on your French. Overall, definitely not a memorable stay, but unfortunately the affordable choices for budget and quasi-budget travellers are in short supply.

Djibouti is expensive, and this is as budget as it gets. Rooms in budget hotels (under $40) in Djibouti are often fully booked, so try to confirm a reservation if you can. Hotel Horseed is an uninviting-looking property with little space outside the share-bath rooms, but the rooms are AC and sleepable, and the fan will drown out any noise. Canadian manager speaks perfect English, and generously helpful for anything you need to find out, but staff is dour.. Restaurant pricey, but somehow I got a nice plate of spaghetti for an anomalous DF500, which was not on the menu.

We spent two nights here. The rooms are small, but there is a wardrobe and there are bedside tables. There is air conditioning and a ceiling fan and a large bathroom. The outside patio deck area is huge and peaceful to sit on just listening to the water and looking at the sea. Unfortunately our bathroom had a leaky pipe from the sink so the floor was flooded by the second evening and the room smelled bad. Also, they have limited vegetarian options so we only had our included breakfast here, which was bread and cheese and confiture. Eggs are extra. We also had our laundry done at a reasonable price.

compte tenu de l'âge de l'hôtel, celui-ci est propret et opérationnel. La baignoire est loin d'être immense mais permet de se détendre un peu. La clim est fonctionnelle et le frigo aussi. Le personnel est poli et le linge propre.

The hotel has an elegant look and hoped the service would be the same but it was disappointing. It seems they have run down the hotel such that for a hotel of its stature, one would expect better. They charge US 110 for bed and breakfast . My first disappointment was that the TV only had Arabic and French channels which means for those of us who know neither language, there was no entertainment. However, I would have coped with that as I had reading materials and sessions to prepare for. The greatest surprise came at a few minutes past midnight when a rat bit my finger and the pain woke me up. How did I know it was a rat, by the excrement on the bed-cover. I went to the reception and was lucky enough to get a room change. My room the following day was no better as a rat ran before I slept and when I requested for a room change, I was told the best thing was to have it trapped as the same may happen even if I were to go to another room. Consequently they placed a glue trap. I slept with the TV on and come morning, the rat was there trapped but alive. What I did was check out that morning and then went to look for a hotel later in the day. I found a hotel that was very clean for just more than half the price. The staff are good . However, the hotel is quickly running down. They need to fumigate the hotel, vacuum it since the staircase and rooms are carpeted, and work on providing all meals so that they can control hygiene. They also need to ensure lighting and water are sufficient since on the second day I had to get water brought in a bucket for me to take a bath. The hotel has the infrastructure but they need to seriously invest in it and manage it well. Considering their charges, they need to give value for money. Failure to do so will send them out of business as one would rather pay more but get better service. Will I go back there? Never.
