We hadn't been to Amandines for a while and were a bit shocked by the prices of the main courses on the specials board which were over £9. When you factor in a drink and a coffee it's easy to spend £15 on a very light lunch. I had Mediterranean bubble and squeak patties which were minuscule. Beautifully presented with a selection of small salad portions but not value for money. I just don't understand why Amandines is still cash only. For families, and there were a few there today, it must have been an expensive cash outlay. As I left hungry it occurred to me that I probably would have treated myself to a pudding if I'd been able to pay by card.

We booked here again for our 30th anniversary. We had a wonderful 3 course meal again. The atmosphere is also wonderfully romantic and the food was just superb. The only place other restaurant I have eaten in that compares to this is one in Dedham without naming it it is quite famous. The tastiest salmon stater ever slow cooked steak was wonderful As long as this restaurant stays as it is I will continue book for special meals out

Had three courses and wine and everything was cooked perfectly by the chef. The service was very good too. This is definitely much much better than pub grub and cooked better than most restaurants. We picked from the specials board and found the food to be fresh, plentiful and well presented. I think myself as a bit of connoisseur of sticky toffee pudding and can confirm this was the best I have eaten.
Looking forward to eating at the Crown again soon

This was a great experience. The food was excellent, better than anything I've eaten out for a long time. The set menu is very interesting and difficult to choose from. An amuse bouche was served, with freshly baked bread rolls. Starters were beautifully arranged, every single ingredient on the plate was packed with flavour. Mains were fantastic, showcasing the main ingredient but with interesting accompaniments and great seasoning. Desserts were also excellent, many with a twist on a classic recipe. Added to that great wine, good service, and an open fire, made for a great experience.

Just turned up for a table and was promptly seated. It was a quiet evening but the take away business was steady.
I was pleasantly surprised by the easy to read menu and the quality of the meal was superb. All was freshly cooked and you could tell. Nice touches like warm plates and hot finger wash. I will definitely be returning!

A beautiful and charming beamed property with fabulous and far reaching views over the Waveney Valley
Just arrived tonight early and the early tea time barmaid could do with smiling and not being so abrupt. Asked for a particular drink and all she said was...we don't have that....! No sorry was given, or offer of anything similar....very rude.... but food was good as normal and once she had gone home around 6, the other staff were very very friendly especially the blonde lady....

Just over ten quid for a crab salad followed by strawberries and ice cream - very good value. The crab was excellent - nice fresh salad, steamed potatoes, mayonnaise and coleslaw with a kick. Friendly staff - cool beer. Nice atmosphere.

This is an indepentanty owned cafe on Fair Green in Diss - there is a outside Seating area with room for bikes, also there is free parking. Vegetarian and gluten free diets catered for as well as meat eaters. All welcome!
Great experience at this friendly cafe. Our family all ate different things and none of us were disappointed. Pancakes and eggs benedict were really good. Children enjoyed the milkshakes and we all managed to squeeze in cake for pudding- would highly recommend (if fact I did recommend to two passers by after we had left when they asked if we knew of anywhere good to eat!) Will return to when next in Diss.
