Service was flawless and food beautiful! This is the second time here with a party of 8 and there really isn't a better byo I know of! I had the fillet steak which was perfectly cooked and a great quality cut of enormous stature! We were advised that four sides to share would be enough and this was correct and some! Thank you for a special evening!

We went there in the evening, the card offer a large choice of main dishes but no starters nor menu. Apparently, some dishes were prepared for the lunch (10' to have a risotto on table !!!) but the food was good.
The wine choice is desperately reduced (+/- 10).

We highly recommend this restaurant! The owner waited on us and was so organized that she handled a very busy restaurant quivkly while her husband cooked. The full meal "Menu" was only 24 euros.and was beautiful and large [my husband loved his duck dish and I loved the seabass]. While waiting, we were able to enjoy the quiet of the pedestrian only street and the resident dog and little girl from the restaurant next door. What fun! We were made to feel like part of the family. We will return just to feel this warm welcome again.

Our local tip was:This place has a best Tripe soup. We came and orders a soup bottle of rose as always and lovely family did so fast. They serve soup in copper dishes. What a treat for hungry and tired tourist.we are so full that we ordered only one desert and that was recommend by house. Magnific....

We passed through Dignes after driving through the spectacular Gorges du Verdon. The proprietress was 'tres sympa' and welcoming - a far cry from the frosty types you can encounter in France. The food was well prepared and simply presented, a true reflection of everything you want from a provincial french restaurant - I was a chef in a former life, so these things matter to me. The lunch 'formule' was a great deal: 13 euros for entree+main+coffee/tea or main+dessert+coffee/tea. In my case, pork fillets with wild mushrooms in a cider sauce, followed by a lemon mousse. Wildly popular with locals (always a good sign). You may want to call ahead to be sure to get in. Dignes is a cute town on the back country route from the Rhone Alpes to Provence.

Good lunch time 'formule' which we chose - complet gallette (comes with a bowl of salade), crepe sucre, bowl of cidre (doux or fort), and coffee. Service very friendly and helpful re options. Lovely atmosphere.
We found it by accident, but worth looking for - it is tucked away!

My husband and I choose this small restaurant after having read good reviews. We were the first customers that evening. When we walked in and very unpleasant smell filled our nostrils and we almost left. We decided the cook must have burned something quite badly. Very few other restaurants were open, so we stayed. Sitting between two open windows, we got fresh air that cleared the smell somewhat. We waited quite awhile before our dinners arrived; the trout was OK but the Turkey in the curry was tough and dry. At least the price was very reasonable; only 25 euros for the two of us. But the food was a disappointment.

I went here last week with my girlfriend and the entrees was the same of the plate that they offer to you at the beginning. The atmosphere is quite good and the meat was spicy and good cocked. Low prices : less than 40 euros in two people: 1 entrees, 2 plates, 1 dessert and a half liter wine.
I think this taberna could do better!

Crèperie
We had a lovely dinner overlooking the main square in Digne-les-bains. The owner was friendly and funny, making jokes with our French-speaking daughter that my husband and I could not understand (because we lack skill in speaking and understanding French, not because his jokes were bad). The crepes were very large, one per person was plenty for dinner. The buckwheat savory crepes, especially, were wonderful. The sweet dessert crepes were just as good, with loads of whipped cream. Yummy!

We had a nice dinner in Taj tonight. Although not typical food for the Provence we felt happy with everything:the friendliness of the owner, the quality and quantity of the food and the atmosphere. The one thing not so good was the weather (lots of rain) but that's something you cannot change.
