The boiled seafood is great. Not to spicy or salty. Try the crab cakes. They also have good daiquiris

This is the little restaurant that no one know is there. It is a road house with good food, portions, service, and price. Specialties include local produce, hamburgers, and bbq. Watch out for the specials as they can be almost double the cost of some of the entrees. Good brisket and bbq chicken (special) are accompanied by great mac and cheese. Recently deleted item was poutine. Much missed.
Desserts are usually made in house, and quite good.
This would be a great place if you are early for a flight, and have a car. About 15 minutes from the airport if you drive like my grandmother.

Here is an urbanspoon.com reference to this restaurant: http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/57/1597680/restaurant/New-Orleans/St-Rose/Port-Side-Restaurant-Bar-St-Rose
We eat here frequently for lunch. The portions are very large and the service is excellent.
The lunch specials are hard to beat, especially Fridays catfish with crawfish sauce or shrimp creole.
When fresh seafood is in season, you can smell the crawfish and shrimp boiling as you approach the location.
It's one of the few locations you will see on the river side of river road.

I'm not a fan of PJ's coffee, or the teas, but most of my friends are, so I wind up there fairly often. I usually order a frozen granita which is very good. The scones are nice, but you usually have to ask them to warm them up a bit. They have a few sandwiches at lunch that are unremarkable. The shop in Laplace has a great staff--efficient and friendly. I stopped going to the one in Destrehan because the staff ignored customers to continue their personal conversations on more than one of my visits--that may have changed by now. Like Starbucks, whose coffee I also dislike, there are plenty of other things on the menu to make your visit worthwhile.

The only problem is they are at the flea market in New Orleans most of the time. The business is rarely open on river road, so call first with your order. Very nice people.

Traveling the River Road and need a quick, delicious bite? A little tired of sit-down Cajun meals? Just like really fresh fried chicken? Stop in here. Not much in the way of atmosphere--in fact, this is the kind of place most people would probably just pass by without noticing. Trust us, you should pull over. We could hear the cook frying the chicken as we waited and when it arrived it was the tenderest, hottest, juiciest, crispiest chicken we have had anywhere. Amazing hushpuppies too. We were blown away.

I love it here. I will write a review every time I go to this location. I love the food. They were busy and no one missed a beat.

This restaurant has moved to Paradis as the other one in Boutte burned. The parking lot is small and hard to maneuver. The restaurant is always busy, minimal waiting time. The boiled seafood is seasoned just right and the platter has several types of seafood to sample. The fried seafood platter is amazing, the soft shell crabs were the bomb !!!!!

This is our go-to place for sushi rolls. We've always found the food and service to be fine. There's a wide selection of sushi, shashimi, rolls as well as other menu items (teriyaki, tempura, etc.).
Sometimes the sushi rolls aren't wrapped that well and end up falling apart on the plate. It creates a mess, but nothing detrimental to the experience.
Prices are reasonable for this style restaurant.
Like I mentioned earlier, we've been here several times and don't see why we won't continue patronizing them.

Having lived here all my life before moving away in 2005, I never stopped in to try out this restaurant. On a recent visit back home from Arizona, my sister recommended getting a burger from here. What a burger it was! My 12 year-old son kept bugging us to go back for more!!! It was the best burger he'd ever had. I agree that it was one of the best I've ever had. For a small little restaurant, it does big business and understandably so. The guys working there are very personable and friendly. In addition, we called ahead to order a couple of burgers to take with us as we headed to the airport.and they had them ready on time for us. Great food and great service --sure wish they had a restaurant here in Arizona!
