Depok (Sundanese: ᮓᮦᮕᮧᮊ᮪) is a city in West Java province, Indonesia on the southern border of Jakarta SCR in the Greater Jakarta metropolitan region. The "de" in Jabodetabek refers to Depok, while Depok word is an acronym of De Eerste Protestants Onderdaan Kerk (Indonesian: Organisasi Kristen Protestan Pertama, English: First Protestant Christian Organization). There is also a saying that the word "depok" itself comes from Sundanese meaning hermitage or abode of one living in seclusion.

It's the best in the world....mainly cos it's the only ikan bakar Kalimantan outlet....
It's signature dish is ikan patin bakar (grilled shark catfish) in bamboo....they wrap the fish with the sambal in banana leaves and cook it inside a bamboo...
They have other Indonesian dishes..
Very yummy and worth the drive from Jakarta to get there...(it not in the city)

Ayam Bakar Christina is one of famous place restaurant nearby University of Indonesia Depok. They already exist since early 90's, with very delicious taste of chicken grilled and of course their hot chilly sauce. How about the price? Still affordable, no doubt!
They never loose their taste after such a long time...Very legendary place.

1/15 (or sometimes written as One Fifteenth) is a nice coffee shop located at jalan Gandaria I. Around the same neighbourhood with Gandaria City Mall, but quite far for a walking distance. It has a very lovely, modern, yet minimalist interior. Very nowadays design. Mostly in broken white and light brown.
The coffee itself is served consistently good. At least from what I usually ordered, using V-60. Each week they offered various single origins. I suggest you ask which beans are in store.
Other meals are also very good. I usually ordered cakes, granola, or kaya toast (kaya is a jam made from srikaya, a tropical fruit). If you want to order their meat-based meals, I suggest you ask them first since they use pork in some dishes. Some people, including me, can't eat pork or its derivates.
Inside the cafe they provide so many tables, and it is unlikely you can't be seated. Perhaps in saturday nights, but I am always for brunch or lunch. So I can't tell in the afternoon or evening.
Very recommended.

Starbucks is a popular coffee shop. But, you may feel different experience if you go to Starbucks UI because it takes place in great environment: lake that you can see from windows, green environment, academic nuances, and UI hospitality. You will meet friendly baristas that always remember your name. I recommend you caramel macchiato or green tea latte.

I go to this cafe quite often because the food here is very delicious.. Other than that this cafe has great interior design. Maybe they could improve on the service especially during weekend where the cafe is usually full. Overall, Milan offers great food, reasonable price, and relaxing ambiance. I highly recommend this cafe guys..

I came here about 3 times after lunch hour but this place always crowded maybe because this restaurant near some college and have a cheap price. Despite from it cheap price, the quality of food just average and the quantity is for one person. You can order 3-4 menu per person and also you should order their sambals separately.
For me who can't eat spicy food stil managable to eat their sambal just warning them to make not so spicy sambal. Taste was good, and they can suggest you the suitable sambal for the menu you order.
Just mention you for the cleanliness.. It could make you think twice to sit on the short table side, the under table sometimes didn't clean after. Still some dirty things that fall off like rice or crumbs not cleaned by the staff check before you put your feet on..

Many restaurants come and go, as a growing sign for culinary prospect, especially in my city, Depok. With growing people live here, and need for classy culinary, this new restaurant offers a unique concept. This resto has been around some months, located in the primary Sawangan road this resto gives various Indonesian dishes. I have been to this resto couple times, and always come back. Their best is Ikan Gurame Goreng with sambel cobek mertua. Crispy gurame fish with great hot chili sauce. Excellent. Another choice is Empal Goreng. Good atmosphere, bring your family here. The concept is like Sundanese saung.
