Things to do in Democratic Republic of the Congo
Le Balcon is a bar and restaurant in Ngaliema, about 800 meters after Utex Africa. It is on the last floor (third or fourth) of a commercial building. The food is good, but prepared in a Congolese way. For example, I had a full chicken with fries. The chicken was cut like in a nganda (traditional Congolese restaurant): cut into small pieces, without removing or taking the bones into account (Congolese people do eat small bones, unlike Westerners). The Congolese friend who shared this lunch with me enjoyed the food very much. With that, we had a couple of beers. The service was good and we paid only $22 for two. There were several couples chilling out on the sofas. I think it's a good place to do so.

I visited Marina Restaurant during my last trip in Congo. The magnificent view of the Congo River brings peace of the mind while enjoying a nice beef fillet braised kebab and all sorts of green vegetables. Visit Marina and you will find any type of world food and delicacies of the Congo under one roof.

The best place to go for an Indian meal in Goma. The restaurant specializes in dishes from Hyderabad and has a large, and sometimes bewildering, selection. Everything for carnivores and vegetarians and most in-between.Portions are generous, so it's possible for the not-so-hungry to share, making it excellent value for money.Best for dinner during the week because it gets very busy on the weekends and somewhat rowdy when there is a big football match on.Friendly and attentive staff & good food. Highly recommended.

At Sir Harry's, there is a restaurant, lounge and hall. It offers a magnificent view of the Fleuv e Congo, a beautiful setting and personalized service. On the 6th level, open-plan restaurant offers a varied menu; Continental, Indian, Chinese, pizza and B
The restaurant is located on the sixth floor of a modern building in an open air terrace with a good view of Kinshasa and the Congo river. The food portions are aplenty and fairly tasty but not on the cheap side, especially considering that the establishment still charges you at the Dollar equivalent of 1000 FC when it is exchanged everywhere at the rate of one Dollar to 1220 FC. My other concern is that the restaurant seems to be a sort of Jack of all trades, but not really master of none. There are too many types of cuisine listed for the restaurant's chef to be exceptionally good at any, The overall decor of the restaurant seems also out of character with the type of cuisine offered: Egyptian sculptures and hieroglyphs?? Last bot not least and despite the modernity of the building, the apparent pipes here and there, the broken tiles in the mens room, the wobbling faucets mar a feeling that could otherwise be near total satisfaction

Apart from the really great setting of this place, the food was excellent and on Sundays they offer a buffet from Antelope to crocodile and so on... with great salad bar and all the side dishes you can imagine... OK we didn't make it to the sweets simply too much (and 2 lecker...)..

Since the Gekko's has closed a few months ago, there are only two restaurants in Kinshasa that serve sushi: The Paradise and The Carvao restaurants (at least, that's what I thought...) Craving for sushi, I went to the Carvao with a friend. I asked the waiter what kind of sushi they had. He replied they didn't make sushi anymore. You can imagine how disappointed I was because I had chosen this restaurant only for that reason. I later learned that the main chef, the one who could prepare the sushi, left for another restaurant -the Limoncello.I asked a coquille Saint-Jacques, but they didn't have it either. How disappointing! In the end, I chose chicken with a mushroom sauce and croquettes. It was good and only $15. For dessert, I had a Dame blanche, good as well but overpriced for the amount of ice cream (only one scoop): $12.My friend chose beef and was happy with it. When we were eating, we saw that mussels and fries were served at another table. I knew one person at that table and, on the following day, I inquired about the mussels. She said they were excellent and she would recommend this dish, a Belgian speciality, to everyone. It isn't cheap: $40 per person, with fries and a drink included. But at least we know that it can be found there and that it is of a good quality. My first experience at the Carvao restaurant wasn't amazing, but I will go back - I will go back for their mussels.

A Kinshasa institution beloved by locals and expats for excellent rotisserie chicken.
Chicken is delicious but I would suggest to also consider desserts as an essential part of the menu. When asked, the waiter said that despite this is a recurrent request from the customers, the cook seems reluctant in procuring the desserts for the restaurant (?). Lol.
