Find out what South American restaurants to try in Georgetown. Although not a crowded Caribbean tourist spot, Georgetown is a unique city that serves as a perfect jumping point for ecotours into the South American interior. Its Victorian and Dutch Colonial architecture is detailed with louvered window shutters and brick and stone work. Built below the high tide level, the city is protected by a large seawall and drained by a grid of canals. Sundry goods can be found at the distinctive Stabroek Market, while the landmark Light House offers panoramic views.

One cannot call this a restaurant or even a take-out place because there is no sign whatsoever from outside to indicate the owner, Tasha, sells any food. But she does and she cooks the best meals for few dollars. When you are there at the store (where she sells other snacks), you will see the blackboard with the menu. There is always a crowd of people to order the food. If you are not there by 12.30, then tough luck! The food is sold out very fast. She cooks more Indian type food with a curry of some sort with a meat and also a vegetable. It is always less than $5 and the taste is very richer! It you get here soon or ask her to keep you a plate of food, you will get a chance to enjoy this great food.

We've been here several times and always the food and the ambience were great. Very friendly people and servers. Really excellent food. Barbecued straight from the oven. Great skewers are taken to your table and you're given your servings of chicken or beef or pork or sausages of various kinds.l There's a delicious buffet as well with rice and vegetables and many other things. Really succulent liver, too.A variety of drinks: wines, various rums etc., beer, soft drinks. Everyone's friendly and the entire place has a homey feel to it.A real must is the wonderful skewer-barbecued pineapple!

Having lived in Argentina and Brazil I found this restaurant was average. Chicken and lamb was good but beef was tough. They don't come round twice with the same cut. I felt hurried in eating. Salad buffet had a good selection but deep fried fish had too many bones and I could not eat it as too much hard work and I was brought up on fish on the bone.

On 11th May 2011, Night Cap opened itâs doors for the first time, and we have graciously greeted all those who passed through them ever since. To this day, Night Cap encompasses more than just late night dining or a place to hangout and relax. Itâs where
Came here once back in 2012 for a light snack in late in the evening. Sat inside the cool airconditioned area. Had a burger and fries and thought it was really delicious. Probably one of the best places for burgers in Georgetown. Staff and owners are very hard working and treat their customers really well. There's no place else in Guyana that has such polite staff! The restaurant is situated close to the Embassy of Russia as well. Many embassy staff and Russian tourists eat here. I however recommend not sitting outdoors during the night as one can be riddled with mosquitoes!
