Find out what Thai restaurants to try in New Castle. New Castle, Delaware, "the first capital of the first state," was founded in 1651. Having been home to Native Americans, the Dutch, and the British, New Castle truly is a "uniquely American place." The Amstel House is a Georgian mansion dating back to 1730. The Dutch House has survived from an even earlier period, featuring furnishings from the 17th century. With ancient graveyards, town greens, old churches and traditional English gardens, New Castle brings history alive.

My nephew, who lives in Delaware, read very good reviews about this place. The ambiance was perfect for us--very unassuming, and perfect for a college town. The price was reasonable. The workers didn't exactly provide service with a smile, but they weren't rude, either. My cousin, who said that he never really had Pho which he didn't enjoy, really enjoyed Pho here; but I wasn't stuck on the vegetable Pad Thai, which I love elsewhere; it was a little sharp, and not as flavorful as Pad Thai I've had elsewhere. I've also liked the consistency better, elsewhere.

Something has changed over the past year here where you just can't seem to get spicy food anymore. For years I've been going here and ordering from here and lately, i just can't seem to get spicy food. I have tried using adjective (extra spicy, super-spicy, very spicy) and the old number system (1-10 scale) when ordering. Lately, it seems like no matter who takes my order, the food always comes out not spicy at all and while the quality is good, it is just lacking that special something it used to have. Not sure why they refuse to make spicy food anymore. Guess it's time to find a new Thai place.

Nothing fancy, but many choices on the menu and very friendly and welcoming staff. You can choose from standary thai dishes and various other Asian selections, including a nice pho soup.Prices are reasonable and portion sizes more than large enough. Service is excellent. You can sit indooors or out.

When prepared well Thai food is unparalleled cuisine. We used to swear by Oodie's on 202 but they changed in a bad way and the joke on the waterfront has always been sad.If you insist on impeccable service you might find this restaurant lacking but if you want delicious food Bangkok house is worth your time. As others say the som tham is great, so is the beef salad appetizer, the soups, everything we've had there is tasty.. We did stop going here for a while but with the new owner and operation we look forward to return and explore their menu some more. Yummy!
