...that it was simply an overnight stop for my friend and I. We were on an adventure bike ride and De Rust was our overnight stop. We arrived after dark and Penny was standing at the gate directing us with a huge LED torch. What a friendly and welcoming lady! She made our arrival and check in so pleasant. We were also really impressed with the accommodation we had booked. The rooms were very well furnished, the towels and linen immaculately clean, and I had one of the best nights sleep I've had in ages. This is somewhere I would love to bring my wife back to. Sadly we were leaving early in the morning for another long day in the saddle, but coffee on the veranda in the crisp morning air was welcome. Thank you Penny, we loved our short stay and hope to see you again.

Located 3Km from De Rust in the beautiful Meirings Poort on a farm with 6 self-catering chalets. With spectacular vistas and great hiking trails and lots of room to explore.
From the moment I walked in the door to hear owner Barry Meijer say, 'Sit down, let's chat.', I knew this would be a different experience! The hosts, Barry and Vivienne, are hospitality personified. They made our stay an absolute experience. Barry's passion for his cattle and regenerative farming was fascinating and enlightening. Great people. Our chalet was beautifully furnished and spotlessly clean. It had all one needs for a self-catering weekend. And the view from the stoep of green pastures was wonderful. We also visited the Stone Cottage on the upper farm - a delightful away-from-it-all place on the plateau where the eland and cattle are likely to be your visitors. Meijers Rust's position in the Meiringspoort lends it the surreal geology of the area and magnificent views all over the farm. We have promised ourselves that there will be a next visit for hiking and biking!

After 8h drive I just want a good rest , no chance to get sleep of the noise from the road... My room was next to the road. the service and accommodation is good.... Noise terrible. Have my headphones on all night trying to sleep. NO CHANGE.

Our trip only allowed us to stay one night - but I could easily have stayed one month! The peace and tranquility was unbeatable. The sunsets were magic and the house was cosy at night. The firepit at the bottom of the garden was a winner giving you excellent views of the sorrounding mountains and farmland.
