The Sand Castle is a small two story motel that looks like it has been around since the 50's or 60's. It is a clean and quiet little place. We had a great time there last weekend and plan to stay there again.

I was very pleased with my stay. I enjoyed it so much, I booked a second night. I will definitely be going back within the next few weeks. The room with the hot tub over looking the beach was the best part.

Just footsteps away from the beach this mom & pop hotel features an outdoor pool with the view of the ocean. Our goal is to be your "Home away from home". Some rooms features a full kitchen and have access to private terraces; All rooms aren't ocean-view but we are on the beach approach as well as the larger units are located across the street in our other building. All rooms feature a dining area and cable TV. Guests will also find a private garden sit-out with some rooms. The pool area is fitted with garden tables and barbecues. We are also pet-friendly with a non-breed or weight limit restriction but only limit 2 pets per room with a $50.00 + US taxes fee per animal upon arrival. (You must pick up after your animal as well). We look forward to seeing you!
The only thing going for this place is location on the beach. The rooms are disgusting and the owners have zero customer service skills. The place badly needs a maintenance person. Rooms are in disrepair and our room had roaches. We just killed them and left them on the floor for owners to see. It was bad from the start. Even though we had a reservation... the office is always locked, and they made me stand outside for 20 minutes even when I could see the desk girl inside. And asking for a roll of toilet paper seemed a chore to the owners. Nearly anyplace else would be better than this hotel.

We booked this for one night, on our way to Disney. Had just left a B&B in Savannah, so wanted someplace decent but not too expensive. Let's start with the GOOD: It is a small strip type motel, The grounds were very clean with easy parking right outside the room. The room was very clean and comfortable. There was a fridge and microwave and 2 beach chairs to use. Melissa, who checked up in was very nice. We had a quiet night's sleep. The BAD/ODD: Right after I booked the room, I got a message that I had to "agree" with all their stipulations...no smoking, no loud voices, not able to wear/be very fragrant, had to be peaceful-weird; have never encountered anything like this! Check in times were tight, and you had to notify them if coming in earlier or later than their set parameters. The name on your booking must exactly match the credit card you use. I used my name and hubby's points card. When we got there, Melissa had cancelled our reservation and I had to re-register with matching information. I had to be sure my old reservation did actually get cancelled; which it did. There was no increase in rate, so it was more of an inconvenience than anything. There is coffee available in the very small registration area, and only for the times it it open; so really no coffee! The room is very basic; bare bones. Could use tissues, a shelf or a few hooks. We literally had to run the hot water for 20 mins to get it hot! We walked down to the office to ask Melissa if we were doing something wrong, and she said no, just let it run. Very strange and inconvenient. She said it was because it was so cold outside. In summary: clean, safe, very basic but with all it's "glitches" I think I'd go somewhere else.

This was the worst hotel that I have ever visited. The room looked like it was furnished at a thrift store. Everything felt nasty and unclean. The floors were sandy and unmopped. And, because it was a weekend they charged almost 200$ for one night. The tub did not drain. The safety handle by the tub almost made me fall and came off in my hand. There was paint in the tub. I did not rest all night because of fear of bugs because it was so rundown. This was the worst night of my life staying away from home!
