a small boutique establishment in the heart of the business district providing a fine dining experience featuring European cuisine. Our ambiance is of a low key level providing a relaxing atmosphere with soft music. We use only natural/organic products wi
I wish Trip Advisor permitted the awarding of half stars, as 3.5 stars would, for me, have been a more accurate rating of this newish establishment which has not yet, I think, matured fully. This is, in some respects, a restaurant with no clear identity. The menu presents a copious and varied--perhaps too varied--selection, with dishes ranging from relatively simple sandwiches such as "Croque Mademoiselle"; a take-off on the traditional French Croque Madame, and a simple tuna melt, to rack of lamb and Beef Wellington; sort of a one-stop shop for varied (mostly) continental fare. It also offers a Chicken Adobo, more typical of Philippines Restaurants. There's nothing at all wrong with this, but it's somewhat confusing since there's no unifying culinary theme; perhaps Continental with a slightly Filipino flair? As with the food selection, so too with the wine offerings, ranging from fairly common French Beaujolais to extremely ordinary wines from non-European sources. The red wine offered by the glass was, for me, just over the edge of drinkable and I'd never order it again. The decor is extremely well done; it's tasteful, confortable and welcoming. The restaurant is obviously lovingly decorated without being ornate or pretentious, and the overall effect is pleasant and relaxing. We stopped in on the spur of the moment, and I tasted only the Croque Mademoiselle, which used (I think) ciabatta bread, a dried and tasty meat (could have been pastrami), and a fried egg. The bread was spread with a tangy mustard that might have been English as it tasted a bit stronger than traditional French mustard, but I could be wrong. The sandwich was accompanied by home made crisps (chips) that were quite good.I did not have dessert, but did inquire about the attractive cakes--Red Velvet, Chocolate, and something else--displayed behind the counter. These are made in the restaurant and, while attractive, are ubiquitous throughout the city. As I did not taste them, I cannot comment on the quality though they certainly looked attractive, but had nothing much to do with European pastry.I had a brief chat with the owner, who welcomed me warmly to the place and explained that the restaurant will be accepting credit cards sometime shortly after the new year. The wait staff, while pleasant and eager to please did not appear to know the menu well. However, the service was prompt and efficient. The owner told me that he makes the pasta on site, and I look forward to sampling it during my next visit, together with the fois gras, which sounds appealing from the description written on the menu. This is not intended as a negative review. Café Flore is a new restaurant and I hope it finds its niche in Davao's growing culinary scene. Again, I'd be more comfortable with a more unified culinary experience, but this reflects my predilections and may be unimportant to most readers and reviewers. I'd also appreciate a healthy selection of Bordeaux but perhaps wines are not of major interest to the intended clientele of the restaurant, all of whom--when I was there--were Filipino. I will return here to sample some additional dishes together with a more palatable Beaujolais.

It was actually our 2nd wedding anniversary when i requested to my Husband to celebrate it in Twistea(2 hours travel by bus from home). My friends highly recommended us the place because of the good ambience and tasty foods. Great food at a great price! The chicken wings are one of my favourites. Â The wings are seasoned and done just right, with the skin a bit crispy and the meat juicy which makes for a heavenly delight. The Pizza was superb..!!Good crust and the cheese overload make me feel home.Wow Happy Anniversary. Thank you for traveling 2hrs and spending your Anniversary with us. We our gland you enjoy good food like we do. Again thank you for your review.

Treated badly today- CRAP like the served ceasarâs salad. Wilted veggies and rancid dressing! Once my favorite restaurant but with the worst customer service today, I doubt if I recommend it to associates and to yaâll. Called the attention of the waiters but they insisted that the saladâs that way- wilted lettuce and rancid dressing. I tried a second spoonful but it was really disgusting! I complained for exchange but waiters were as statues in paying attention so I never mind it and ordered a main course. Once the bill came out, they charged me the rubbish salad but I complained again and ended up charging me half of the price. Still an act beyond the borders of decent customer service. They probably think they could fool a food scientist!

Mediterranean Cuisine. Claudeâs serves the best steaks in town. Their steaks are perfectly cooked to the dinerâs specifications with a choice of pepper or mushroom sauce. It can also be served with either mashed potatoes, or the more popular choice, rice.
I felt that the dishes had too much butter or oil when served, and took three attempts to get my coffee order correct

Whenever I travel to Davao, De Bonte Koe is always on my itinerary. The selection of appetizers, mains and desserts makes not overeating a challenge. Henny is a great front of house host and Cherry runs a wonderful kitchen (open view) and quick service even when busy. Fancy something out of the ordinary ? Try the Steak Tartare, Rabbit Stew or Ostrich steak. For a main course treat , the marinated , wood fire grilled pork ribs are outstanding - so good I bring them home to my kids !

Good recommendation by our son who works in Davao. Despite the high end price for the young ones, it did not disappoint. Yves who owns the place said they have been around for 8 years. Talk about staying power. He is very friendly & accomodating. Highly recommended is their apple pie -- taste like Christmas. My husband had the sausages with brown garlic rice and ordered it again when we came back a few days later. We brought friends - a couple - who had heard of the resto but never tried it. Yves treated us with a delicious chocolate dessert - on the house!Reservations recommended cause it was full the first time we came.
