I was invited to Baldovino for dinner as a guest by some friends, and again we were treated so well that it was a pleasure to have the most enjoyable experience. Every dish that was served was cooked to perfection. The service from the waiters was excellentI am coming back Thank you Azzura and all the staff for a fantastic welcoming a lovely meal

Step back in time as you enjoy your meal in a friendly relaxed family run business.
For my last night in Melbourne I dined at il Cantuccio, a traditional style, Italian restaurant . Inside decor was very dark & traditional, very cosy: staff were all Italian. I chose Involtini, a traditional Calabrese dish: beef topside rolled with parsley, pecorino cheese, pesto and slowly baked with capers, anchovies, tomato & chilli, served with rustic Italian style veggies. Very enjoyable especially when I got to the capers & anchovies stuffing. The staff were very friendly and exuded typical Italian passion for life & food: they treat you like family! Highly recommended.

Definitely one of my favourite places to eat when I stay in Melbourne. The chef has perfected the snitzel. Tasty, tender & loads of vegies on the side. Filled my tummy. Great service when I was waiting to be seated & a glass of red arrived quickly. All in all... the best snitzel I've ever had! Will keep on going back again and again Hello Cathie,Thank you for taking the time to write us this great review! We think we have the best schnitzels too!Looking forward to your next visit!

Great food and really friendly staff. The room is warm and welcoming. Very family orientated but would also go as a couple. There were 8 of us and all meals were ample and tasty. Lucky for us itâs a local so we will def be returning. But you must book ahead because the word is out and this place is very popular.

Buongiorno from Preston's Tonda Italian. Inspired by the trattorias of Italy, we cook with authentic flavours made with only the freshest ingredients. We source a lot of our produce from the Preston Market and believe in supporting the local community. Ou
We had high hopes about Tonda, given some positive feedback from friends. We accepted an early booking but were told âwe have to have you out by 7pmâ. This was a precursor of the meal experience itself, where everything was rushed, plates and glasses cleared with unusual gusto, and the general feeling that they couldnât wait for us to leave, even though we were well within the agreed timeframe. Whatâs more, the pizza was disappointing. Way too much cheese, the vegetarian pizza was tasteless, no fresh basil or fresh tomato on the cheese-soup Margherita, overall very heavy and unpleasant. We wonât be going back there. Ciao Filmfrontier! We are a busy restaurant and due to this we have 2 seating from Friday to Sunday. As you mentioned you did have the early seating which you knew needed to be available by 7pm and was agreed to. We canât help it if you felt you were rushed. We pride ourselves on our service as your friends have recommended you to us. Iâm not sure if you are aware but a Margherita pizza is predominantly a cheese pizza. At Tonda Italian we make every effort to serve great food and give great service. Itâs a shame you wonât be back as Iâm sure your experience is a one off.

Had a family celebration so decided to book in advance.Luckily it was a slow night as the table had not been prepared. The basis of this establishment are the pizzas and the pasta and the feedback from the family was by not leaving anything on their dishes. We had a pizza for entree and individuals dishes for mains. These varied from Pizzas, Pastas, Lasagnas and their specials. They have a couple of specials in addition to their standard offerings. The pizzas came in either medium or large sizes. The have a small drinks offering with about 8 beers and 10 different wine choices. The prices for the drinks is on part with other restaurant within the area.Overall, it was a good experience and we finished the celebration with candle in about half a dozen profriteroles.

They make the pizzas like real Neapolitans do. My husband being Italian and Neapolitan - that is important from a pizza. I also love their gnocchi although my husband says it is not as fluffy as his mother's (but that is truly home made). Most important , it is our local go to pizza place and the locals most all agree as it is always busy, even on a Tuesday night.

It feels special. Excellent waiting service, delicious food. Linen table clothes, napkins, not too noisy with a relaxed intimate atmosphere. Great restaurant for a special occasion or to meet with friends, Its always on my "Go To" list

Umberto Espresso Bar - Authentic Italian restaurant in Thornbury, Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. Great coffee, delicious panini, homestyle food and exceptional service. Open for breakfast lunch and dinner.
Visited here recently for a friends birthday.Food really good but selection is really small and priceySalad that came out was only lettuce.Drinks slightly expensive.Very noisy and you are assigned and allocated time slot to eat. Ten minutes before our slot is finished you're reminded that you need to finish up.The big down fall was the service. Waitress didn't speak English well so was unable to explain to us what the specials consisted of.Attention to table service not great. While the food was nice, the price and average customer service would mean that I would probably not visit again.
