So we saw them on Insta and thought wow! The cakes looked so good! The presentation! Like you could order an assortment of cake slices... so I insisted we stop by and do this. Well, huge mistake! They seemed to not know what to do or what we actually wanted... the girl at the counter was busy talking to someone about God knows what and counting some money... the guy who finally came to ask what we needed did not understand... but still went to the back to âget a boxâ for what we needed even though there were only 2 cakes to speak of... I reserved judgement because who knows right? We were standing there for a good 8 minutes (I counted after it felt like heâs gone to actually buy the box somewhere else) and when he finally emerged from the back, he was holding a box that he was planning on reusing for us! Iâm not sure what the box originally had but I donât think it was safe for what we needed... I pointed this out... they seemed perplexed... by this time I was very annoyed and walked out... I will NOT stop by ever nor will I recommend anyone go there to be subjected to this kind of treatment... like what the heck? Almost felt like I was being punked but the cameras never materialized.Do NOT waste your time...1 Star is for the ambiance that I experienced before speaking to anyone there... seriously NOT worth it!Wow! Hi, I'm not sure what happened. I'm very sorry to hear about your experience and also sad that you didn't get to try our cakes. It definitely sounds like there was a misunderstanding. All of our take-away containers and boxes are new but the larger ones must be stapled together. I'll speak to our supervisors to enquire further on this matter. If you can send a PM on Instagram I'd greatly appreciate this so that I can make sure something like this doesn't happen again. Most importantly I'd like to win you over with a proper caking experience. We are a small business and we do make mistakes but we always try to make things right.

We are moving to a better location with view of ocean and sunset!!2nd week of September! So our current location is closed. will update here once we are ready to welcome you.
THe range of food was really impressive. The salads, seafood and chicken was absolutely fresh and everything was tasty. We had kids along, and they got tailored dishes according to preference. The service was quick during lunch (although we came as a big group!) and professional. Rhapsody's Masaki is inviting with a great space around a tree and a superb art-collection, totally worth it whwther you sit inside or outside. Would warmly recommend!

Nestled next door to the historical Botanical Garden, Baraza is literally the perfect retreat from the hot, bustling city around it. Southern Sun Dar es Salaam's flagship restaurant is open every day for lunch and dinner, and offers a delicious fusion of
Hotel restaurants are not my favorites generally but, as I was convalescing after a hospital stay, my freedom of choice and movement was fairly limited during my stay at the Southern Sun Hotel in September 2017. I think it is fair to say that we were lucky to have the Baraza Grill so conveniently located at the ground floor of the Southern Sun Hotel where we were staying. This is a strong point for a hotel resident but a potential drawback for those that are in the city center or âbusiness districtâ but that also means that the restaurant is not over crowded. The head chef was South African at the time we ate at the Baraza Grill and he is to be commended for having set up a top rate restaurant that lives up to first rate international standards in terms of staff and cuisine. What my wife and I found was that their offerings (that are subject to frequent changes) were excellent, based on our experience. They also offer specials - which may well be limited to certain times of the year based on available ingredients (hence "seasonal") which we appreciated and were not let down by when we tried them. The Baraza grill is a restaurant that offers an intriguing mix of European, African and Asian food. The standards are high and comparable to any top level locale regardless of whether in Africa or Europe of Asia or the Americas. We had both great lunches and great dinners there. Leave some room for dessert. You wonât regret it.

My favourite reastuant in Dar es Salaam. I have been coming here for several years. It is kind of hard to find, but well worth it. Tell the taxi or Uber driver that it is near the "Twitter Bar" and they will know right where to go. The local artwork is amazing. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very cozy. I happy that you have been impressed with our establishment and all that goes with it. Most importantly our food and services. We will maintain the good standards and the excellent quality of our food. Wishing you the best in your travels and look forward to serving you again soon. Cheers.
