"BEEG JOES", as it is pronounced by the locals, is a popular spot throughout the day. Menu prices range from inexpensive to moderate. Fried chicken is, as it seems to be everywhere in Dipolog, a popular staple. Coffee is freshly brewed, which makes Big Joe's Restaurant a hangout for Western expats and visitors who don't mind paying an additional twenty pesos per cup to avoid the cacophony of Jollibee in the neighbouring Lee Plaza shopping mall. Dipolog City is as safe a spot one can find in Mindanao. Staff at Big Joe's are especially friendly but somewhat frazzled at time due to large crowds at peak hours. Placemats contain English language riddles and puzzles which don't always work out quite right but this is all part of the experience. Filipino breakfast is served all day which is basically bacon and eggs for the uninitiated. Food is on par with what one would expect at any Western family restaurant in a developed country. It isn't gourmet but can be a welcome change of pace from local fare. Meals are freshly prepared and certainly worthy of four stars.

This Dipolog experience offers a nice change from Filipino fare for those looking for a more Western fast food experience. This is not fine dining but a quick service restaurant catering to local families. This location is large, clean, bright and welcoming. Staff are friendly and efficient.
Prices are in line with comparable choices abroad. However, Jolibee food is filled with sugar with the exception of their fried chicken and, my meal of choice, the ultimate burger steak. All meals, even the fried chicken, is served with a heaping side of white rice! No sugar free drink options were offered on the menu. This being said, if you are travelling to Dipolog with children, they will love this place. And me, a big kid, acquiesced and had a two servings of buttered canned corn and a glass of iced tea!

Italian Bistro, ITANOY (Italian/Pinoy ) friendly, pasta ,pizza, grill and italian coffee . A friendly place to meet, chat and eat with love.
Good service, good menu choices. I had the spicy spaghetti in oil and it was excellent. Only issue for me... very small serving size. Pasta is cheap... no reason to give such small portions. That aside, really great place!

I had dinner here with the hosts who invited me to do a business seminar. They have a wide enough menu for the 1st time Filipino food diner but not so wide to be confusing. The pinoy basicc were there... sisig, bulalo, tapa.
I tried the lengua which was a pretty large serving for the average pinoy. Very good too.
Nice little resto and a quaint little city.

Tonino's, a Mediterranean-inspired resto and wine bar serving fine delectable international cuisine with a fine selection of great music for a relaxing evening - simply the coolest place in town.
The food was quite good, the wine was excellent, service was actually excellent except for a small mix up in our orders. The supervisor seemed a bit arrogant and too sure of himself despite our complaint but other than that everything was quite good.

Authentic Japanese Cuisine, Tapas + Bar + Grill
We hied up to Umami after dinner for a round of drinks and super fresh sashimi. Staff was ever ready to serve and take your orders. The place also has a karaoke machine for the guests to use. So what was supposed to be a round for the road got extended to the wee hours of the following day.
Excellent decor, friendly staff, great pricing with a fantastic view. Great way to cap a long day.

Not easy to find but persevere and you will be richly rewarded. The owner Ed is a lovely guy who has a liking for chill out music to soothe you. They do good noodles too.

I had breakfast here on consecutive days.
The fresh fruit is a good variety (banana, mango, papaya and watermelon) while the banana bread was excellent and fresh but my crossaints (served at the day before's brekkie) were not.
The restuarant is in a beautiful cove with the sunset, albeit a bit to the right of the cove, was also spectacular.
