Things to do in Springvale

Visited twice and found service to be erratic, with 1 missed meal and 1 wrong meal, long service time. The food however was good, large servings and tasty. Popular cafe with outdoor and indoor seating. Would go again next visit to Melbourne.

Thought we would give this a try but was very disappointed.First could only book for 11.15 or 1.45 for Sunday Lunch. The place was not even half full during our visit. At 11.15 the buffet was not ready to serve and even once we were told it was ready, a lot of things still missing, oysters not out, sushi not out, salads not out. If you are going to make people come this early at least be ready. Dessert bar had a lot of repetition in it type of dessert and only marshmallows available for the chocolate fountain. Food was of good quality and fresh, but you could get the same quality and range for the same price or cheaper and a high class restaurant with table service. $50 per person for lunch even with some seafood and not including drinks (kids 12 and under $25) is way too much. Will not be going again.
Busy cafe, but staff would walk out coffees to people and fail to notice that every single available table (about 10) had food and mess and dishes left on it from the people before. They would walk back with nothing in their hands and leave their customers to clean up the mess for them. Really poor presentation.
Recommend for weekday lunch or dinner. Food & drinks excellent for a very reasonable price. Recommend anything in the "Tradies Lunch " range on the menu at $17 for non members. (As well as the rest of the Menu.) We had a great steak- cooked perfectly rare-with salad & chips plus a glass of wine. The girls are friendly ,welcoming and very efficient. Even remembered us from previous visit.Recommend for meal by self or in a group. All welcome in a most pleasant dining room.

Most school holidays I am looking for something cheap and time consuming to do (that doesn't involve screens). My two kids (aged 9 and 11) usually always beg for a trip to IKEA for breakfast in the school holidays and it has become quite a tradition in our family. I haven't been always impressed with the breakfasts on offer but recently I think they have revamped the offerings and have got it just about right. You can now order a children's breakfast that is uncomplicated (eggs, hash brown and bacon/sausage) with the option of adding extras for a dollar or two, e.g. beans, more bacon, etc. This is pretty good value when the basic children's breakfast is only $2. My eldest has the adult breakfast but at only $4 this is still great value. We usually arrive as IKEA is opening (around 10am) and it isn't usually busy. I let them get the trolley and the trays plus the knives and forks, etc. and they can manage the whole process without my help anymore, leaving me to grab my coffee and cinnamon scroll at my leisure. Once we are done I also give them the responsibility of putting our waste in the right container (great learning opportunity regarding waste) and our trays with dirty dishes on the convey-a-belt - they enjoy this bit as much as having breakfast! They like to peak into the kitchen to see the people working in there which always starts an interesting conversation about working at IKEA and the different types of jobs people do there. A trip to IKEA is a great learning experience but a cheap breakfast is an added bonus!

We have two restaurants at our venue; Dawson's Bistro LUNCH- From 11.30am / DINNER- From 5.30pm Trackside Noodle Bar 7 Days a week 12.00pm - till late
Another visit to Greyhounds with friends. The meals were delicious, beef rinds, wedges and coleslaw. Mine was land back strap with sweet potato mash, asparagus, broccoli and snow peas, absolutely delightful. Friends had fish which they said was very good also. My only complaint always is that you cannot split the bill. This makes it difficult when there are two or more couples, paying their own way.
