Koo Moo is our favourite restaurant by Mae Klong River that we always drop by on the way to Hua Hin. Though there’s no signboard to the restaurant, the place is always packed all day by the locals during the weekend.
Our favourite dishes are Platoo Satia (local river mackerel cooked in a special method only available in Mae Klong area) and curry crab. People love Koo Moo for its no frills, fresh and tasty seafood. Though the restaurant is by the river, the ambient is pretty much low key.

This place is hard to come by chance. We were convinced by friends that we must try out this place on the way to/fro hua hin. Was a bit hard to find but food made up for it. Not a big fan of seafood so i would say it is a soso. Price is reasonably cheap. There is no scenery or anything apart from its fisherman village atmosphere.

I tried their green chicken curry with roti, but it was not Indian roti bread but a type of Indian papadum, 6/10, and I also had a large chang beer, Total bill was 305 baht.
The restaurant is air conditioned, small and cute, the walls are heavily decorated and there is a small area for the musician who turns up around 6.30 pm, free Wi-Fi is available but was not working for me, there is no car parking lot and a few table's are placed outside, the restaurant was not busy so no problem getting a table.
Trip advisor map is useless, true location is here.. 13.538575, 99.822753

อัมพวา Ampawa
The happy-looking chicken icon on the seafood restaurant banner might have easily misled some passers-by to think it as a outlet specialising chicken meat items. Nonetheless, grilled chicken did figure among the favourite menu items with seafood dishes. Conveniently located near to the Amphawa floating market, the place was a natural magnet for both tourists and locals looking for good food at affordable prices.
As expected, the restaurant was fully packed the evening we had dinner there. It was a long depth room, cramming in tables back-to-back with noisy but happy customers tucking in their favourite food. The wash-rooms and basins were strategically located for the convenience of patrons and the environment was airy and well-ventilated. Furnishing and furniture were basic and functional; but service was pleasing. We thoroughly enjoyed the grilled riverine prawns, deep-fried sea-bass with sweet Thai dip/sauce, grilled salted chicken, Thai papaya salad, fresh oysters cooked with garlic in hot-pot, fried spicy mixed vegetables, Tom-Yam Kung soup, fried rice Thai-style, jugs of ice-cold beer. Some dinner outing to remember for a long time to come.

Another visit but always good as yesterday. The restaurant used fresh ingredients and keep their tastes as they do. The place is very crowded, but keep expanding and now have better and bigger restrooms. The shrimp fried rice, deep fried fish and morning glory vegetables are must ordered.

Lovely ambience right in town. White wine was great, good price too. Really loved the live band, Thai pop folk but not too loud. Had fettucine tuna - al dented, great value. Enjoyed Buono. Very Thai.

I ordered a thai dish consisting of pork and crisp vegetables 10/10 and a plate of jasmine rice and lastly a watermelon smoothie, total price 220 baht. The food is a cut above the average thai restaurant but the prices are also well above average.
The restaurant is inside a beautiful cottage, they also have private karaoke rooms,
car parking is available down the road.
Trip advisor map is ok.

Pad Thai with Prawns Stir-fired thin rice noodles with sweet and sour sauce, eggs, bean sprouts, green onion, tofu, and prawn, wrapped in omelette.
We tried to find that restaurant... and we found it; middle in the jungle. Terrible. No restaurant, but a table and a roof.
