Find out what French restaurants to try in Dakar. At the westernmost point of the African continent, Dakar stands as a multicultural, diverse city full of vibrant arts and traditions. Residents from various ethnic groups present assorted crafts, foods, jewelry, fabrics and wood and metal goods at bustling markets such as Marche Sandaga or Marche HLM. The city is home to museums and mosques, cliff walks and beaches, and makes a convenient jumping point for excursions to any of Senegal's national parks and nature reserves.

Reviewing this place is complicated, but not because the French Cultural Center is a great place to go for its many wonderful events. The restaurant is inconsistent. When they have the menu items, they're tasty, but they're often out so my friends and I have taken to being prepared to be happy with ordering our 2nd or 3rd options. The service (particularly the roller-skating server) is good and the atmosphere (shaded, but outside and well-decorated) is quite lovely.

Unfortunately the booking system in this hotel is a mess; recommend using the phone to make reservations as other available channels have proven not trustworthy. I had issues with bookings through booking.com in the past (december 2017 and my colleague in January). This time used their website to check availability and make a reservation. I did receive an email confirmation for the booking. It s worth nothing! Upon arrival was told that they are fully booked half of the requested time. Reception staff still gave me a room for two nights and mentioned that there may be cancelations and that they will follow up on it.Didn t hear from the reception again until the call informing me that i have to leave as rooms are booked in the middle of the afternoon. It s unpleasant and quite a challenge finding a new hotel on short notice. The issue is not the staff which is always trying to be helpful. The issue is a bad management of the different channels for making reservations

For lunch or for diner . Just a drink ? Don't forget "Happy hour" 19pm:20pm "Noche Latina" every saturday night Special senegalese dishes can be order by advance
The chef used to prepare the food to order. Then he got lazy and made batches and froze the food. And the microwave was set up to defreeze the plastic portions. What a shame. We don't go here anymore and most of our friends have abandoned this restaurant also.We are very surprised about your criticism, because we don't used microwave at all, it's why sometimes the cooking take more time than in others restaurants. So, if you didn't appreciate the food, the reason is somewhere else. In spite of this your opinion is important.

My husband and I decided that we needed a tete a tete dinner away from kids and where we could enjoy a nice surrounding and good food foreign evening. We had hear from colleagues and friends of the Lodge that is across the street from my office and we decided to have a go at it.Even though the staff were very nice and ambiance being very pleasant, I have to say that the menu was very limited and what was worse is that food was not that good...I had ordered a filet a point that I had received well done...sent it back and when got the replacement it was again well done...they wanted to change it again but after 25 mins waiting for food I told them to let it be as I cannot continue to make my husband wait for my correct order.... It was not better in the case of my husband who ordered capitaine but the fish was under seasoned and nothing special at all.All in all our romantic dinner took 60 mins where we decided to finish fast and go back and relax home after this bad experience!

I was at Noflaye Beach restaurant for dinner with my crew. I enjoyed the well done fish for dinner with rice and vegetables. Great view of the ocean with play area for the kids. Free wifi. Middle price.

Ate here with business colleagues, based upon trip advisor ratings. Place has nice decor, and good music. Service is also quite good, the place picked up about 9:00pm. Menu had a broad selection, albeit only in French language.Took the beef carpaccio upon recommendation of people on here, follow by the duck Brest. Both were great. The cheesecake for dessert came out frozen...twice, so that's a big fail on their part.Everyone enjoyed their meals, and all left happy. Fast forward 3hours, and I am clearly sick from the food...don't know what it was, but something there got me. It's obviously the exception to the rule, as people enjoy this place, nonetheless need to flag this up.Had it not been for this, I would give it 4 of 5 star rating.

We lived opposite and decide to try this location after hearing great reviewsWe sat next to the pool. It was quiet, clean and no mosquitos. We had 1-1 cocktails which was strong We ordered 2 entrees - cerviche, mussels and ravioli with squid. The courses were served fast, food was flavoured and well plated. Although it was pricer than other restaurants this was worth a visit once a while for a good treat
