As others say, just basic food, not gourmet or fine dining.
It;s probably what most tourists want - good basics and value burgers and fish n chips.
The barra burger seems a must but is actually quite disappointing - a little barramundi but much more salad - would probably pick another dish next time.
Smoothies are good and staff very helpful

Hidden in the hill side greenery with outdoor dining surrounded by garden and the rainforest. Away from the hustle and bustle.
Our tour company organised lunch at this restaurant. All was ready when nine of us arrived by bus. Seven opted for the grilled barramundi, one for steak and one for the kangaroo. Carafes of fresh juices and chilled water on the table. Lunch served promptly and virtually the only topic of conversation was how tasty the food was.
It was delicious, mostly sourced locally. Salad fresh. Selection of tropical fruits pieces on the plate. The owner (?) gave an interesting talk on the origins and benefits of the various fruits; some we recognised by the appearance but were mostly ignorant of their names. Interesting tok now that some of the fruit that we buy today has evolved over the ages by cultivation and evolution. A very tasty coffee concluded an enjoyable lunch. Tea lovers enjoyed the local tea. A quaint restaurant almost concealed by the tropical forest. Cannot assess value as lunch was included.

Great service and even better food! Small selection of food but for what they do have they do it very well! Husband had the duck, I had the steak. We had the scallop and pork entree and it was to die for! Nice tranquil surrounding....MoreAnd we look forward to hosting you next time Sara. Thank you for joining us.

Daintree Village is a peaceful little village nestled on the banks of the majestic Daintree River. The Village is a “must –do” for visitors to the iconic tropical north, as it is the stepping stone to the World Heritage Daintree rainforest, the most ancient rainforest in the world, as well as home to an impressive selection of wildlife…perhaps most famously, the estuarine crocodile..and there are plenty of them around! Daintree Village Hotel is located at the heart of the Village, perched over the river jetty, where crocodile tours depart regularly. The DVH serves meals throughout the day, kicking off with fabulous espresso coffee, and big brekkies for those setting off on adventures into the green… Naturally, our draught beers are icy cold, our craft beers are unique, our wine selection is perfect for lazy afternoon sessions, the aforementioned coffees are made with love and skill, and you’ll find hearty tender steaks, crocodile, scones, salt & pepper calamari, juicy burgers, chicken parma's and all the regular Aussie pub favourites plus a few unexpected culinary delights to ensure your visit to Daintree is nothing less than memorable! Other services include General Store, Bottle Shop, tour booking desk and ATM. See you at the DVH soon!
We ate here most nights we were in Daintree - it is the focal point of the "town". Food is quite sophisticated for the location and the booze flows freely at some good prices. We enjoyed every meal.Definitely a unique part of the world, and as is the case in many tiny little Australian villages, the pub lies at the very heart of the community.

I was seeing the signs for ice cream as we explored Daintree and I was estactic when our guide said we could stop for our treat if we hurried as we were on a schedule. We pulled in and walked up to the counter for...MoreThank you for taking the time to write us this amazing review of your tasty stop! Cafe/Takeaway in the centre of the main street of Daintree Village. Open from 8am-3pm, sourcing high-quality local produce from local farms and suppliers.
We popped in on our back down south for some breakfast and we weren't disappointed! Such delicious food and generous portions! Between us we had the breakfast burger and the hunters breakfast. The pancakes sounded amazing but we were after savoury. The staff are beyond...MoreThank you very much for your wonderful review. Much appreciated.

Little gem of a place opposite the ferry turning.
Open mike from 6pm every Friday which is also the only night that Fish and Chips are served ($15) - and they are very, very good Fish and Chips too!
The bar has basic red/white wine and bottled beer but drinks a priced accordingly.
An excellent place to spend your Friday in the Daintree but get in early if you want to eat.
