Cusco Region, Peru Food Guide: 7 International food Must-Eat Restaurants & Street Food Stalls in Cusco

August 25, 2019 Viva Honore

Reviews on International food in Cusco, Cusco Region, Peru. Incan majesty and Andean baroque exist side-by-side in Cusco's stone streets, epitomized by the Qoriacancha palace and the church of Santo Domingo flanking the Plaza de Armas. In this high-altitude melting pot of Amerindian and mestizo culture, you'll find extraordinary textiles, lively summer festivals and archeological wonders.

This is such a nice spot to eat! It was close to our hotel so we decided to pop in one night and ended up eating here twice! The people who work here are so sweet and the food is really good! The atmosphere is nice too because of the wood fire , I highly recommend El Pisonay.

I think they must have had a bad night. The restaurant is a small glass box in the atrium of the precolumbian art museum. Very hip. The dishes have a very nice presentation such as the soup being covered with puff pastry. Actually the presentation was ostentatious considering the food quality. The service was just bad. Very fake and pretentious. The main dishes were presented at totally different times. It might have just been our waiter. DO NOT get the chicken. 2 people at our table ordered it and took one bite. Tasted like frozen fake processed chicken. Neither ate any more. The alpaca was very tough. The mushroom soup was good but heavy. Garden salad was good as well. Considering all the great places to eat in Cusco, would definitely suggest you go elsewhere.

The food here is on point. I’m not vegan but after trying this food I’m tempted. The foods I’ve tried that are amazing are the dumplings, lentil soup, and Pumpkin soup. The soups are incredibly filling and are reasonably priced. They also sell kombucha here which is absolutely amazing and better then the ones I get in the states. If you’re tempted to try vegan and your on the fence, go. You won’t be disappointed and the staff is incredibly helpful. It can be a bit slow during the busier hours and the prices are a bit more expensive then some of the other restaurants in the area. But compared to the states, the prices are cheap compared to the same level of quality. Will definitely be heading back there before all is said and done.

We saw really good reviews for this place so wanted to have dinner here. We arrived and it was so popular that every table was full. The waiter, Mario, gave us a voucher for 2 free juices next time we came. A couple of days later, we went there for lunch. The food was tasty and healthy and the service was great! Thanks Mario :D

I walked in our I knew I picked the right place to have dinner. I found Cider (which I haven't seen for weeks in Peru), there was clearly marked Gluten Free meals making it very easy to order for me, and Wings was playing as I walked in. Staff also speak fluent English making it easier and not having to rely on google translate. While this felt British in every way the food does truly reflect a fusion of the cultures. Only seating 22 people in total max with 9 tables I imagine on a busy night you'd have to book. I came on a Sunday and there was only two tables not taken up. PER.UK are one of the few not having to usher you through their doors. Their food is a little bit expensive but completely justified with the quality.Thank you very much for your lovely review smurfette1992. We are so pleased you had a great experience at our restaurant. I myself and a coeliac so we really take great care when it comes to preparation. And our cider is made by an Englishman who lives in Arequipa! We hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Peru.Kind regards.
